I don`t know what you smoking though regarding "financial successful lifespan" und "royalties" regarding mods.
he means that fans make mods dev gets the money it's not rocket science
mods if anything will be stuff like infinite health or the reverse, harder enemies etc., like "Mission Mermaiden".
or like night of revenge mods that affect gameplay and some even implemented new animations iirc
though it's hard as fuck so unlikely but ye

I Do remember him making the Sinisistar 2 character folders open on purpose, so that's a modding option officially given to us.
So take that into account?
iirc that was for costumes modding, no?
maybe that's what the dev meant when he said, according to zanurah, that the game will be mod friendly

lol, aye. So, in case some folks still don't understand where I was coming from earlier, all I was wondering about was how feasible it would be for a small dev like Uu to allow modders to monetize their work via platforms like Patreon... which he in turn earns a percentage of in royalties to help fund potential official DLC, thus keeping the game profitable in the long term.

maybe you can investigate other devs who do this and see how they handle it
and then the big step
ask Uu
directly
shoot your shot
i mean nennai 5? what's the dev's actual name? nennai 5 or Uu? because in the sinisistar 1 thread it's listed as Uu

Good Lord, I hope we don't get another hentai anime. What we got was a great disservice to the world Uu is forging.

Call me crazy for asking this, but how feasible would it be for a small dev like Uu to allow folks to monetize off this sequel by creating mods that add meaningful content to the game? Naturally he could earn royalties from it and thus not only extend the game's lifespan but also provide him additional funds to add content (DLC) of his own? He's said in the past that the game will be mod friendly so if something solid could be worked out with all involved, its modding community would thrive.
Funny story, Retrolab has been stuck for a long while in making the sequel for Bound by Love but they actually released a manga adaptation and gave the animated version to World PG Anime- it looked great. Meanwhile, nienai maintains contacts consistently, focuses on the promised sequel and has released a bunch of trials to get feedback from fans... but they could not afford a good studio for the OVAs of the first game

Yeah, i understood that, i just though that he plans to release a paid only mod, which i personally find disgusting.
But he probably would have only asked for donation, not making it a paywall.

I recommend to give the read.me in the sinistar 2.0 folder a read (use google translate)
it says
" 1742046304199.png

So there you have it. As long as you don`t insanely profit off of this or try to turn it into... racist stuff i presume, you good to go.

As for royalties:
A contract would need to be created, meaning one must be penned up in english and japanese (i presumee you can`t speak japanese), checked by expensive lawyers to see if they align in JP and whatever law is in your country, and all that for probably below 50 bugs for royalty, if anything. Not the time, let alone money investment worth.

I would say just do whatever and when you receive a mail asking you to stop, just comply... not that he could do anything even if you didn`t stop

You got that wrong, the studio approached the dev and asked him if they can make a animation off of his stuff and give him some royalties. He paid nothing. The bad quality of it all and the fact that they did that multiply times in the past should tell you it`s just a quick cashgrab to profit off of hype

Aye, that's what I thought had happened, too. Scummy practice at any rate. The Sinisistar 'verse deserves much better.

And agreed, I'm not one for paid mods either, but I'm perfectly fine with fans financing the development of free mods.

Yeah, my bad. At some point I got the names confused but happy to be corrected. Uu is indeed the developer's name.

Nen_ai/Nene is the head designer, with Miikun as his trusty head engineer. No name drops for the other workers... yet.

Why am I not able to Enter certain areas. It tells that it is not accessible due to demo version. Im pretty sure in previous versions I was able to get to broodmother and slug enemies. Is it the end?

The broodmother is only available in previous test versions for the time being. The latest release is a demo version, and we have the gatekeeper, the church boss and the swamps.

Now I get it. I was annoyed when it told not available when obviously I was able to access it in previous version.
