Just finished the game. Much more polished and feels like a real RPG with dialogue and events. The scenes were good but you can def tell they went easier on the gore. Although, I was not expecting the gore after the demihuman cart game over part when they storm the cathedral. Hopefully, if theres a DLC, we'll see more. Overall it was challenging but yet rewarding at the end.

I would. Having to go through all that preparation and fighting just to have a complete loss and possibly end of the world as the only ending would be pretty shitty.
....
It's good as 1 possible ending, but terrible as an only ending.
I was just half-joking.
But actually, Good ending in current form, kinda feels as a cheap pandering to people who see it this way.

Closing the gate and saving the world at the self sacrifice of getting stuck on the other side is very in line with lovecraftian horror.
How did you even figure that out? Maybe I'm blind, but I don't see anything suggesting that this was what happened in Good Ending.

The thing with the ending being bad is not lore-wise to be honest, it's because is indeed bad and rushed, As if it is just a improvised ending made in time to the game's launch.
the final scene with the slug is much less elaborated than any game over scene in the game, even the scene where you become the outworlder's vessel could work better as ending, for example.
Kinda, my thought. In current form. Bad ending feels more like solid ending. While Good Ending is just "Congratulations, you have defeated the enemy, here is credit roll." And then you have just post-credit scene which is too criptic to understand it's meaning.

It's a theory based on the post credit scene. We do see the the body of the otherworlder be drawn back through the portal after Haanja blasts him and then the portal vanish. However then in the post credit scene we find Lilia with the slug in a hellscape that very much looks like what the portal looked like. So my assumption / theory is that Lilia got stuck on the other side and the Slug is a weakened form of the Father it got reduced to after Haanja blasted him. This theory opens the door to a DLC that expands on this whole ending, even if the Father in his slug form is finished off here by Lilia...he is not the only otherworlder.
Some of my earlier posts on this matter:
Regarding the whole theorizing weather Rabianne won or lost and if Sini 1 or 2 comes first in the timeline. There is 2 huge differences between Sini 1 and 2. Rabianne even if she wins can only do so after the slug started fucking and possibly already impregnating her while Lilia gets to kill the slug outright. In 1 Rabianne didn't had access to the magical support on Haanja in so many ways, she didn't have the powder that makes otherworlders directly fightable so she could only fight the observer off in her dream while being fucked and then also if while fighting off the observer she got pregnant, she doesn't have Haanja around to help terminate that pregnancy. Sure if she could make it back to whatever base of operations the sisters have before the pregnancy progresses she could be saved, but that's a bif if. On the other hand Lilia only has to face the slug in a weakened state after Haanja blasted the main body with purification magic, and they have tools to abort even if there is an otherworder pregnancy hapening (so long as Haanja doesn't also get captured like in the bad ending).

So it feels to me like 1 comes first and then 2 and probably what happens is that Rabianne both wins and loses. She does cleanse the land and fights of the observer but it's too late for her cause she had no way of stoping her own defilement before she could win, later she gives birth and the cycle continues. While Lilia having strenght in numbers actually wins. Then again, I too expect a dlc that expands upon the slug ending. My initial theory that could be another win lose scenario is that perhaps the hellscape you are in when you find that slug, she is transported to the plane of the otherworlders. The world is saved, the portal is closed, but Lilia got drawn in as it was closing and now she is doomed to fight in an alien world with no support which just means she will eventually lose and be captured by an entier plane of outworlders that are all eager to use her body to bread the entier next generation of eldritch gods.
I mean, honestly I'm quiet shocked that we didn't really see her in this game. Sure sure there is a head in the treasury that looks like hers...but that kinda makes no sense for how she really ends up and is probably just an Easter egg. For the type of game this is, I kinda expected to see like a pregnant Rabianne attached to an eldritch slug god pumping out babies and Lilia must put her out of her misery finally. Then again, I still expect something to that effect to happen maybe in a DLC. Like if my theory is correct and Lilia is trapped on the otherside at the ending, with the slug, and the DLC continues that, where you have to just endlessly fight in the otherwold till your strength gives out and become the plaything of a whole dimension of eldritch gods. Maybe you'll be able to find the actual Rabianne there trapped like you. Either find her in a state where she is fully corrupted and is a mother of monsters (which is very in line with the themes) or perhaps if the game wants to take a hopeful turn just once (I find it unlikely), maybe you can find her also still fighting the evil gods and the 2 of them can team up to actually escape or even put an end to the threat for good (and then if you game over you can still have the scene of both of them becoming eldritch mothers trapped on the other side forever).

To be fair, one thing that also has been bugging me. Haanja when she blasts the Father. Her whole body starts glowing before the blast. Did she vaporize herself to cast the spell? Or perhaps it wasn't a beam of light she shoot but instead her body itself got charged up with holy energy and she flew at the father and into the portal like that. The camera pans up just as the blast happens, preventing us from seeing what happens to the girls. Do to how the fight goes with the father grabbing the barrier at the end, the game forces Lilia to be very close (inside the barrier) to Haanja when she does the final attack. So it's possible that regardless if it was a Beam or Haanja flying in, Lilia is well withing range of the blast and could be swept up in it and get pushed through the portal by it. However if it was a flying attack not a beam, Haanja should be over on this side too now, perhaps being the flyer instead of swept up, she flew deeper into the otherworld, and all I said about possible Rabiane cameo in the DLC might just be the role of Haanja instead. Where Lilia engages in an endless fight pushing deeper into the otherworld only to find Haanja on this side in...some sort of state.

Well, it doesn't felt so easy to me. It took me a lot of time and tries. But I did it with sword. Did not got wand from secret boss until game was finished. :HideThePain:

Only Good ending. Bad ending was perfect. They had to just put end credits there and call it day. Nobody would complain.
lol, I'm one of those weird guys on this site who tries to AVOID game overs on my playthroughs, though I'm not opposed to watching them when I do fail. In fact, before I even knew of this game genre I was renowned for leaving many games unfinished for one reason another. No joke. It really did feel like a curse at times that I ended up hating myself for it.

But then the first Sinsistar came along and broke said curse. I wanted to guide Rabiane to victory and, given what the deeper meaning to her story is, (at least with my head cannon anyway), I felt like I was rescuing her, so my attachment to her wellbeing far exceeded any perverse need to see her suffer. It was an itch I didn't know I had so I hunted down similar games and completed them, too. (Anthophobia, The Agnietta, etc...) So... yeah, I'm all for that good ending horizon.

In the end, the fear of being raped by monsters most foul is ironically a great motivator to survive. Who knew?!

Also it's a great move from this game that it tells you that you will unlock all loss scenes if you beat the dungeon. A lot of people go lose to everything cause many of these games only give you the gallery unlock when you do get the loss. This game encourages you to play good from the get go cause you won't miss out on anything if you do.

Exactly. It certainly helps deal with my other itch, too, that being a completionist. I hate leaving things unchecked, haha.

Funny thing, that boss is entirely skippable and you can get behind it if you come from the other side in the endgame and oneshot it from the back. XD

even with cheat
it has these fucking annoying grab that no matter how hard you tried it force an ending on you.
it's so stupid and lame, forced 100% dead is such a lame mechanic.
why the fuck would they gave any button to press in the first place?
casual difficulty is actually normal, normal is hard.
shit difficulty even worse and not enjoyable than souls game.
rant the shit out of it, hate this gameplay.
