Then again, maybe you're into it?

I usually remain as a lurker here, but I'll just break my silence and throw my two cents on this topic:What are you talking about? FYI, there is absolutely no mentioning of this in the game except for that one line from the pregnant woman's brother that some priests were taking away pregnant women and their babies. This line simply serves to explain the villagers' mistrust of the church and a prelude to the corrupt priests that show up later in the game. There is no in-game evidence that the church itself was actively taking away every pregnant women or that "all fetuses were being corrupted by otherworlder influence."

As for "no proof that all fetuses were being corrupted", it's literally stated on the Abomination Broodling Harbinger gallery text:Yeah, the pregnant woman's brother mentions this bit in their dialogue and he also points out how both Lilia and Hannja are different from them. But again, that only hints at the corrupt priests you run into later in the game. It doesn't really prove any sex results in abomination brooding.
And if what you are saying is true, the church should have sent out a message prohibiting any form of intercourse during their purge of abomination brooding. There is no mention of that either.
That's because no one has the complete picture; not the villagers, not Lilia, nor Haanja. And if they do know, they're in the cult trying to facilitate said births in the first place. The local church didn't say anything because the cultists had great sway over it and doing so would harm their operations, (The villagers wouldn't give up their pregnant women to the priests if they were informed after all.) and those outside the cult only had limited information. Lilia and Haanja were more well-informed about the births, but unlike the player, they weren't exactly sure if all births were guaranteed to become Abomination Broodlings or if regular babies can still be born, just with a very small chance of it actually occurring.Again, if any pregnancy results in abomination brooding due to corruption in that region and everyone knew about it, there is no reason the pregnant woman's brother to be surprised about his sister's abnormal child or Lilia suspect the woman of being pregnant with abomination.
So many people run into this problem on this forum XDHow do you guys deal with the slug boss fight? Like ive just been spamming arrow the hell out of it for 3 minute with just 1 dmg each shot. Pls i need help
Go back the village and finish other quest first, and talk with villager to find more hints.Help, I cant pass this guy. What should I do??? View attachment 4751568
Your going too far ahead. Ignore him and leave. You will have to go back there later though but you need to raise that flagHelp, I cant pass this guy. What should I do??? View attachment 4751568
You are the one who concocted some delusional headcanon based entirely on speculation of "how stupid can people be" (actual argument you used earlier). What are you talking about? You really need to get your facts straight bro. Hannja "literally" says nothing on that. All she does is letting the pregnant woman know that she is carrying an abomination brooding and that it must be aborted.
Again, you should really stop spreading your own headcannon as though they were established facts.
i thought the head looked like leila's, i'll have to check it out againI mean, honestly I'm quiet shocked that we didn't really see her in this game. Sure sure there is a head in the treasury that looks like hers...but that kinda makes no sense for how she really ends up and is probably just an Easter egg. For the type of game this is, I kinda expected to see like a pregnant Rabianne attached to an eldritch slug god pumping out babies and Lilia must put her out of her misery finally. Then again, I still expect something to that effect to happen maybe in a DLC. Like if my theory is correct and Lilia is trapped on the otherside at the ending, with the slug, and the DLC continues that, where you have to just endlessly fight in the otherwold till your strength gives out and become the plaything of a whole dimension of eldritch gods. Maybe you'll be able to find the actual Rabianne there trapped like you. Either find her in a state where she is fully corrupted and is a mother of monsters (which is very in line with the themes) or perhaps if the game wants to take a hopeful turn just once (I find it unlikely), maybe you can find her also still fighting the evil gods and the 2 of them can team up to actually escape or even put an end to the threat for good (and then if you game over you can still have the scene of both of them becoming eldritch mothers trapped on the other side forever).
Purpose? You think the priests and laity of the church fell on their own?You are the one who concocted some delusional headcanon based entirely on speculation of "how stupid can people be" (actual argument you used earlier).
Here's literal screenshots of dialogues that dispell the bullshit you're trying to spread:

Well here's the funny story about that one in the swamps, you don't even have to engage with those flies, because believe it or not, you can just run past them from start to end both ways.NAH NAH NAH, lemme nitpick here. That one screen with the fuckin not-flies. That screen was ass as I had no mana the first time I went through there LOL.
They shared some tips a few posts back , there's also a vid.so im stuck on the final boss mission where i have to protect hannja, anyone got tips or advice?
I honestly don't know how or why priests got to the point of worshipping an otherworlder. Maybe contact with the otherworlder sent them into madness. Maybe otherworlder's presence passively dominates human minds into its servitude.Purpose? You think the priests and laity of the church fell on their own?
Or simply a higher power who's effects on the world they can clearly see around them felt like a god that is more worthy of worship than a subtle one working in the background that your only "evidence" for is the faith of wanting to believe in it. Hoping that if they serve this definitely existing god, then it will give them boon as a reward. Power, knowledge, immortality, pleasure, or whatever else humans crave that spur them into action and temp them into performing horrific actions on their fellow humans even in reality without any mind altering corrupting force.I honestly don't know how or why priests got to the point of worshipping an otherworlder. Maybe contact with the otherworlder sent them into madness. Maybe otherworlder's presence passively dominates human minds into its servitude.
In the movie Exorcist: The Beginning, the priest Merrin renounced his faith after witnessing certain horror in World War II. "God is not here today, Priest." You don't need mind control to convert a man of faith. The right condition and suggestion would be enough.I honestly don't know how or why priests got to the point of worshipping an otherworlder. Maybe contact with the otherworlder sent them into madness. Maybe otherworlder's presence passively dominates human minds into its servitude.
Since in both stories core of corruption is highly educated and powerfull clergy we may assume that its usual devils deal with promises of power and forbiden knowledge, or they just assumed that sucking on otherwolders tentacles harder than mc they will get said power/knowledge.I honestly don't know how or why priests got to the point of worshipping an otherworlder. Maybe contact with the otherworlder sent them into madness. Maybe otherworlder's presence passively dominates human minds into its servitude.
Edit: Since priests use brainwashing (if you get captured and impregnated), I presume there is some form of mind control going on among the clergy.
I mean, one thing that I noticed even the first time Haanja blasted the head off of the so called father is that he has tits. XDSince in both stories core of corruption is highly educated and powerfull clergy we may assume that its usual devils deal with promises of power and forbiden knowledge, or they just assumed that sucking on otherwolders tentacles harder than mc they will get said power/knowledge.
Plus we kinda know how otherworlder brainwashes/dominates females, but how he do it to males is an open question.
