I was surprised at the lack of deflowerment in a game like this, after all it is a ryona game with the MC is a nun.
Normally I'd put it down to dev laziness but there's way too much content (complete with variety for if the MC has swollen tits or is pregnant) for it to be that, so it must be by choice.
Either the dev simply wasn't interested in it and didn't want to include it, or there might be a lore reason - for instance maybe the Rite of Infertility is an invasive process that would involve rupturing her hymen?
On one hand, a bit disappointed with the lack of it, cherry popping is fave of mine, but tbf I usually get stuck with save scumming so I can see all of it in a game. Whereas with this I just kept playing organically and rolled with whatever fate struck Lelia.
It could be argued the Rite of Infertility is responsible for the lack of deflowerment in the sequel as that would mean it also applies to Haanya since she has no deflowerment scene either and that they belong to the same purification chapter.
At any rate, this made me think about Rabiane, since she has no deflowering scene either. That said, she did not belong to the purification chapter and she's very much fertile. I've always speculated that compared to the sisters in the sequel she's just your average nun so it's possible she lost her virginity prior to the original game's events. Whether it was a wholesome or terrible experience for her is another thing--we don't know her history since she might not have always been a nun and may have had a lover prior to joining a sisterhood. That or she was raped during events leading to Kessaria's eventual fall...
Anyway, here's another thought. Do you think sisters of the purification chapter even have periods? It's quite possible the rite of infertility shuts down their reproductive systems completely, which I suppose isn't the worst thing for their profession since they would be able to remain far more level headed out in the field, not be prone to emotional outbursts, etc.
So, putting that into context, it would explain why Lelia lacks emotion and why Haanya acts more mature for her age.
Edit: Alright, so I thought on this some more but I'll throw a spanner in my own working theory. That being
when exactly does each individual sister of the purification chapter undergo the infertility rite? Could we possibly theorize that Haanya took the rite very early in life, which stunted her natural growth? Reason why I ask this is that the same cannot be possibly said for Lelia. She's a grown woman and biology dictates that her blessed figure couldn't have occurred without a fully functioning reproductive system. In other words, without natural sex hormones like estrogen and so on there's no way she would be who she is compared to sweet Haanya. So, is this a solid explanation as to why Haanya is older than she looks?
... it would also explain why she's more powerful with the magic side of things. That rite may have messed with her natural chemistry but she's quite literally a special weapon the church calls upon when dealing with true horrors their holy armies couldn't normally defeat. This would also make perfect sense as to why Lelia focuses on the grunt/physical between the two of them as it could be argued she is seen as expendable in comparison to Haanya, thus why she acts as her loyal protector.
Not that I would expect Haanya to do any manual labour in the first place. Physically, she's as frail as they come.
