Northeast Village's literally designed such that you can simply lose and still continue by finding the key parts in a different manner if you are unable to kill the boss. It is clearly intended to be extra hard to clear.

I don't get why Cathedral Underground needs to be nerfed though, I can't recall anything being on the same level of difficulty as the NE Village boss.
It seems to be both. It makes it a flex for your skills if you actually get to kill the Priest this way because I tried to pull it off and it's HARD. Even with the Aspen Wand (+2 Magic Damage), I can't seem to pull it off. You also get to have your cake and eat it too since scenes appear on Recollection once you've cleared the Village anyway, so there's no need to backtrack for specific scenes.

Beaten Seere and I've dealt with the Amygdala wannabe just within two tries, but that specific fight calls to me as if it's putting my pride in the line. Gotta pull it off somehow.

It doesn't that hard, you just need right timing (use your feeling instead depend on your eyes). You can even defeat him without upgrade.
All boss fight for anyone who struggling, all of them except the final boss quite easy if you know the strategy. I still not figure out how to fight the final boss easier.
Edit1: Added easy method to defeat Final Boss.
Edit2: I play version 1.02 and see the bosses now get nerfed. So I made new video and removed the old one (though I wonder if it's necessary since they're so easy now).
Edit3: Added no damage challenge, it's actually doable.:oops:

Also added optional boss, this boss the the only one that required some skill but you don't need to defeat him to progress story (except if you hate lose). Also small guide to save MP go through the village since it need to fight with the boss.
PS1: Yes, I let him gab me on purpose because it's easier for timing next attack.
PS2: Yeah, I m clumsy press wrong button for first attack, don't mind about it.

I know how to do it, the issue is that the distance between his spawn point and the wall where you're just cornered is a bit too short. Unless you can do a dual arrow when his eye is vulnerable, you will get cornered and stunlocked before you get the chance to kill him, and you can't hurt him at that point either since only do +2 damage before he initiates the grab, so the only window you can use to hurt him is when you bait the grab but you can't do that when he finally corners you.

So conflicted. I want the transparency and more detailed expressions, but the veil feels so key to her design.
For sure, even the strongest weapon references this, since St. Jutta is portrayed as a nun throughout all the art you see her in.

Pretty sure you don't even need double shot. I just uploaded another video. Though I made mistake (not touch the game for almost a month so my skill rusted) and he grabbed me one and miss one shot but I only do one double shot and killed him, and you can see I can still do some more shot before he can corners me so that double shot not even need.
And I did it without upgrade so there is no reason you can't if you even upgraded and use Aspen Wand.

Yea I just pulled it off. What I've been doing wrong is moving back further than I need to after every critical shot. Turns out I just need to do one critical hit, then stay where I am when I made that hit and wait for them to get close BEFORE I have to step further back.

The distance between where the priest spawns and the wall is your actual health bar, and I was expediting my loss whenever I backed away further than I needed to.

This is exactly what you're doing wrong. That's why the video is necessary. Even if you know right method, it doesn't mean you do it correct.
After you hit him, you SHOULDN'T stay where you are, instead you must get CLOSE to him (he won't grab or hurt you as long as he close his eye). Then wait for like one second and move back one step and turn back to shot (this is why I said use feeling instead depend on your eye). Because you didn't get close to him so he'll have change to move a little further, if you're close then he can't move at all (except when he perform the grab). Also if you stay too far it's harder to bait him.
Anyway, since you're able to defeat him already so it doesn't matter.

If you want to just decensor the game using her default clothing, it's pretty easy too:
- open any of these files, take the folder "portrait"
- go to mod, player, sample, paste the folder there and replace all files
- In game, go to the book, player, character image and select "sample"
- the game now will plays uncensored >:D View attachment 4774883

The guy really made it easy to people that wanted to mod it, I hope it boost the interest in having the game :3
But how? If I replace the files in the sample folder with the ones from the mod, the only change will be, that the sample folder will have the new costume and not the default uncensored, or did I misunderstand something? I mean the decensor mod has sadly different costume etc. How does that uncensor the original costume?

There is two parts, one is the Animation folder, which have body parts of the small character, one is the Portrait folder, which is big picture of the character at left screen. Any picture exist in those folders will change the display in-game.
The decensored only mean the Portrait (because the small character never get censored), so you can simply delete the whole Animation folder so the small character will display as it original.

Ah, I see, so basically just replace the portrait in the sample folder, or if I don't want to save the Animation file to be safe, just replace the animation folder in the japanese mod one with the one in sample and use the japanese named mod folder with the sample animation.

I saw there was an update to the games mod manager. Is there a site where people are uploading mods for this game? I've seen a few on here but there don't seem to be that many.

The fact they updated the mod manager makes me think theres more im missing x.x

Those text is actually Chinese (the author is from China), not Japanese. The "Sample" folder is actually backup folder, it help you recognize the original files name/location. Of course you can edit it but you better leave it as it be.

Ah, sorry, I have always hard time to tell kanji and hanzi apart. Thank you, it is clear now. But if I create a folder for the uncensored portrait, shouldn't it have an Animation folder as well? Or if it is missing the game will take the defaults, even if I select the new custom folder without the Animation, just Portrait?
