I know the dev's still planning to add content (they're adding some side quests after all), but the first game got a proper expansion zone (I think it was an x-pack? I ain't played that one in yonks) in the Lab. I wonder if this one will get another zone, just this time being on the other side of the portal - an absolute horror show that seems more fit for a last stand than anything else, perhaps with Lilia trying to fight her way to another portal into the regular world.
That's would be pretty nice to get that type of extra content for a future DLC sized update.

I finally managed to modify the texts shown in-game, Henry1887 has been a great help. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to replace two files containing the majority of the localization texts with the plugin, so I ended up replacing the files directly. I didn't change any of the translations yet, will work on improving the translation once the new version drops.

There are 183 files in total to replace. I have no idea why the developer decided to split every single event text file into its own assetbundle, but I managed to solve the problem by creating a script to batch assign original AssetBundleName and Guid to Unity metadata files so I can create 182 assetbundle files with a single click. The last one needed to be manually edited with UABEA though, but it's just one file, I can live with doing that manually.
I don't think it's a decision directly made by the dev to have the assets scattered like they are, it's more Unity fault on how streaming assets work (as far as I understand that is). But yeah, it's a huge mess that for sure.

Yeah, afaik the way it's implemented is actually good. Because that way if the game wants to load some small asset the game doesn't have to load a large assetbundle into memory. StreamingAssets are loaded on demand so loading smaller split up Assetbundles is faster and uses up less memory. Of course on the other hand loading one single large assetbundle into memory at startup increases initial loading time significantly and in turn increases memory usage by a lot, but you have almost no loading time in game and the memory usage stays relatively constant.

I'm working on fixing the English translation of the game, and I'd like to here some opinions on should I keep the word "nun" or change it to "sister".

1. The word "sister" is in the original Japanese title (シニシスター) , but I've found many examples of the word "nun" from western titles being translated to the Japanese word for "sister" in Japan.

2. Google told me the two terms "nun" and "sister" are mostly interchangeable in casual conversations, but it also told me that:

So it seems the term "nun" doesn't really fit the roles of a exorcist like Lilia.

Since I'm not a native English speaker and I do not live near any Christian culture, I'd like to hear opinions on someone who does.It may very well be that I find the term "nun" not fitting only because I'm used to the Japanese style of calling a woman in this kind of outfits a "sister", maybe it's totally different for English speaking countries and the term "nun" actually makes more sense to you?

Hello everyone, it's me again! The mod author has released a new version of the mod and has actually simplified the decryption process, even explaining the steps more clearly this time.


I've uploaded the updated version, and I was wondering if you guys would like to give it another try?


Here are the updated password hints (original Chinese + English translation):

Layer 1 - 第一层:

中文原文:
解密第①层:①欧派英文②B开头(仅有两个这样的单词)③首字母大写④倒过来输


English Translation:
Decryption Layer 1:
① English word for "breasts"
② Starts with the letter B (only two possible words)
③ First letter capitalized
④ Enter the word in reverse

English Translation:

I'm not sure how the developer intended it to be, but if you ask my opinion, I think it's a play on words for "死にゲー" (Read: シニゲー / shinige), "死に" = die (verb), and "ゲー" is short for "ゲーム" = game, which is a phrase referring to hardcore games that a player is likely to die a lot.

The English title "SiNiSistar" is a transliteration, not a translation. I don't think it has anything to do with the word "sin" as it's clearly stylized in a way that can be separated into three parts: Si/Ni/Sistar. I believe the last part "Sistar" is written with an "a" instead of "e" in order to retain the pronunciation.

For whatever reason i was calling it for years "Sinistar", till i seen the title screen In Sinisistar 2 and was sitting there for like 2 minutes wondering why the fuck i never realized that.

Well... totally not worth the time and bandwidth. This guy spent too much time on making riddles (that aren't even good) rather than actually learning how to process images properly. Jagged edges, missing transparency, and the portrait itself look weird... The skin is smooth in an uncanny way, and shadows are unnatural.

Very big boobs, but they don't even look like they're connected to the body. The idea of changing the wands is cool, I don't know where he got those images for the wands, but most of them are too long - looks like they have much longer reach.

It can also be used as a prefix meaning "dead" or "useless," and even as a prefix meaning "damned".

So if title is "SiNiSistar", then maybe developer while naming his game was thinking about something like this:
"Dying Sister", "Dead Sister", "Damned Sister".

You know i could make a plugin that directly hooks into the games LocalizationManager to inject custom Languages. Since the demo of SiNiSistar2 had some debug files left accidentally i can look at the code of the LocalizationManager(probably hasnt been changed much since the demo).

Well... the reason I emphasized
"死に" = die (verb)
is to avoid this confusion. It's a verb, not an adjective (which would be written as "死んだ / 死んでいる")

"死にゲー" means "hard games in which you die a lot", not "dead game". "シニシスター" is the same, just a coined word created by the author, like many games out there with a title that doesn't mean anything other than the game itself. There's no need to really try to find a translation for it anyway.

That would be helpful, and for people who want to translate the game into other languages as well. (For that you need to somehow inject a font file for the new language also.)
