must i play the first game to understand this one?
No, but you're missing out if you play the sequel first. It plays great homage to the original, + its soundtrack is better.

When you say it like that so succinctly... It's terrifying to consider the possibility that despite all the experiments the cultists did to Ashley, there might have been a small part of them left that may still be consciously thinking like a human. I suppose it would be considered a mercy that Rabiane was able to put them down during her very enthusiastic walk across Kessaria. Even if some sample parts of Ashley were reused by the cultists to replace the head of an Executioner to create their new murder-death machine that may or may not be against the Great Seere's eldritch family plan for Rabiane.

Yeah... The more you read into what happened in the first game, the more glad one becomes that things in SiNiSistar 2 hadn't deteriorated to the point that an Ashley had been created at all in Arcezon. Though I can understand the arguments that perhaps some townsfolk do deserve to get Ashley'd...
Aye, it's a fun story trope! Origin stories for monsters in general fascinate me to no end. =D

Btw, you mentioned Arcezon? Is it confirmed Kessaria is in the same region or are they separate realms?

Now that you mention it, I do wish there was a SiNiSistar equivalent to the Fishing Hamlet in Bloodborne. With all the Lovecraftian elements in the game, you'd think Nennai would've already added in a level where Lelia gets raped by a bunch of fishfolk.

That, and just me wanting something with a similar atmosphere. I just love the Fishing Hamlet's aesthetic, it feels like a Lovecraft novel brought to life. It's that one area in Bloodborne that I always look forward to revisiting, even I can't say the same about those shark monsters and the random Winter Lanterns (Why!?) scattered about.
I mean, I'm not Nennai, and while I said the north-east village was a great place for it, I'd consider a DLC that adds a south-west section connected to the vampiric swamplands. There you could easily support a fishing hamlet that is half-sunken from abandonment and devoid of anything remotely human anymore, save for perhaps a few breeding pens for captives.

That said, I'd try to make the latter different from the content we see in the demi-human village, otherwise it's more of the same with a different breed of monster. Not that I would be opposed. It would be neat if any misstep in the region could lead to her being captured, since the fish folk would be hiding in the waters, ready to drag her beneath the waves...

... also, it would be fun seeing some underwater game overs for a change of pace. The swamp ones don't count.

is the pregnant woman purification quest the only way to get rid of the status that prevents you from getting pregnant? and if so, is there a way to redo it?

You kind of can redo it, but not in the way you're thinking. Later on, in the Arcezon Cathedral, if you pass out with the sleeping gas or die to the priests, they will tattoo a womb crest on Lelia. Just let them, it's not a game over. That will remove the Blessing of Infertility permanently. You can still remove the womb crest safely with Haanja if you don't dig the looks.

To actually redo the Abomination Broodling Harbinger fight, you need to get pregnant yourself, and then ask Haanja to deal with it. Since you need to get pregnant to actually fight it again, it's no longer an option to remove the Blessing of Infertility. You either lose to it the first time, or the priests in the Cathedral are your only option .

thank you very much for the quick answer, does getting pregnant/removing the blessing of infertility impact the ending or is that just a mecanic for the players who want pregnancy?

I personally did not notice any changes at all in the ending, and I made a completely pure run, so it seems to be just a mechanic, as you said. As soon as you lose the Blessing of Infertility, you'll also unlock some scenes in the gallery for enemies you have already defeated, without needing to fight them again (usually giving birth and breastfeeding).

I love the pregnancy and status effects in this game. Shame there isn't a 'virgin' status or something like in NoR to track Lelia's first time since I'd assume Lelia starts the game as a virgin since she's a nun (or maybe she lost it before the events of the game?)

TBF, we don't know if she is a virgin and it's not relevant for the lore, which is funny because being a virgin is usually a huge deal in rituals and summonings. The Blessing of Infertility implies that being raped by abomination broodlings or even a-hole humans is not uncommon for the sisters, so they get a boon to avoid pregnancy

I hope we can somehow let the Dev know to make hotter births if they're already going full send...

We can all Agree.... Lilia is one of the Hottest H game Protags.

As much as they are mutants and shit... I hope that the Dev can make Lilia birth things that are semi attractive in a way they resemble her and her Pristine Genetics. instead of just "nightmares" just being birthed.

I hate to know that her Divinity couldn't influence a demihuman of sorts.

That is the point of the game, no beautiful births from impregnation by monsters or otherworlders. Even humans cannot conceive anything different from a monster in lands influenced by an outbreak and any powerful otherworlder. Lilia and Rabiane, quite attractive in their own way, will only give birth to monsters and horrors if they get pregnant in the lands of Kessaria and Arcezon; assuming their patron deity is not another otherworlder in disguise, the best the Church can do is give them a blessing to avoid pregnancy since any birth in lands besieged by an outbreak will only create more monsters.

It's their game, and clearly they already have a vision for it. Considering the amount of time and polish both this and the first one took, it makes sense they'll ignore suggestions from random people. Whatever extra content they put out will be their own ideas too.

hi guys, this is bilbili 元素雨 mod,code:246580
you need Unzip to get a file named Desktop,Continue to unzip to get two files ,and
Then extract the two files that you get
Finally move the two files into the mod/player, I successfully tested it in version 1.0.5.

by the way, I'm a bilbili depth user, but I only learned about this mod on F95 , Thanks to bilbili blogger 元素雨 for his selfless sharing
I can't get the mod to work.. is the problem that I'm on ver 1.0.6?

hopefully they add new game over images/scenes/animations with each death. like what happens after the provisioner kisses MC then infesting her with parasites? would be hot to expand on that and be able to infect others with the zombie/tentacles/parasites/slugs
