Can anyone help me out compiling the references and easter eggs in SiNiSistar 2?
So far, I have:

Lore wise, I always feel this game shares a lot in common with Bloodborne. Can anyone help me out compiling the references and easter eggs in SiNiSistar 2?

Yep, especially the way they ambush you from behind. While the concept of goblins kidnapping and raping other races to breed was explored way before Goblin Slayer, even in Dungeons & Dragons, the Demihuman Lair here was undeniably inspired by Kumo Kagyu's writing.

Surprised there wasn't a snare trap like in the first game to drag you up by your ankle
Btw, is the Goblin Slayer manga more sexually explicit? It only really happened once in the first ep of the anime, then a tease later on.
As for references.
The painting that is the treasure room boss is pretty much the same as the one in UnHolY SaNctuaRy. I think there's a few more nods to that game as well.

While the Demi-Humans are definitely inspired by Goblin Slayer, what with all the traps and the not-hobgoblins walking around, they are only one out of many inspirations Nennai had while designing them. For example, their name and appearance is directly taken from ELDEN RING's Demi-Humans. In fact, they are almost completely identical apart from their skin color. And when you consider that Nennai is a huge FromSoft fan and that ELDEN RING was released months before development of Demi-Humans began, you can see why they're so similar. Can anyone help me out compiling the references and easter eggs in SiNiSistar 2?

The Archezon Cathedral has many references to Bloodborne, with the most obvious ones being the Provisioner enemy, whose attack patterns mimick to a T the strategy employed by the Brainsuckers in Bloodborne. We also have the Giant Pig and the many snails with similar cosmical lore implications. Hell, the last boss is straight up an Amygdala.[/SPOILER]
It's not really a direct nod since it's so easily missed, but the 'Master of the Lake' scene you get when entering the Northeast Village too early is a reference to H.P. Lovecraft's The Shadow Over Innsmouth. Back when the Northeast Village was still internally referred to as the 'Sea' biome,Did I miss anything? That's more just a reference to fucked up people doing fucked up things in the past. Books using human skin as a cover is a dark fantasy classic with reported examples of it happening in reality too back in the day.there's also the book with the faces on it which could be a reference to the horror movie, Evil Dead
Eek... never knew about the lore behind 'Ashley'. And now that I have I realise now the history of that location. While the Demi-Humans are definitely inspired by Goblin Slayer, what with all the traps and the not-hobgoblins walking around, they are only one out of many inspirations Nennai had while designing them. As for the other inspiration; the masks that Demi-Humans wear during ambushes inside the Lair, when Lelia's giving birth, and during the Arcezon Raid were inspired by the Genshin Impact's Hilichurls. Nennai said as such in an article when discussing the Demi-Humans during development.
You must be registered to see the links, the slugs that are so prominent in both games are also a homage to Bloodborne. They don't give an explicit reason for how Bloodborne inspired them, but most likely the slugs are based on the 'Childhood's Beginning' ending of the game where the Hunter ascends to becoming a Great One and transforms into a slug-like creature.
Honestly, Bloodborne is to SiNiSistar what Berserk is to FromSoft games. Nennai referenced Bloodborne so much that you would have to name nearly everything in the game. The whole premise of Otherworldly Beings getting women pregnant came straight from Bloodborne too, but where the Great Ones of Bloodborne simply did it out of the base desire to have children, the Otherworlders do it to create a vessel from which they can influence the world.
It's not really a direct nod since it's so easily missed, but the 'Master of the Lake' scene you get when entering the Northeast Village too early is a reference to H.P. Lovecraft's The Shadow Over Innsmouth. Back when the Northeast Village was still internally referred to as the 'Sea' biome,You must be registered to see the links, describing it as a village who had gone mad worshipping the Higher Being that lives there. They described the area as a 'port town', the Abandoned Village of the first game but with a bigger scale.
Of course in the final game, the Resident Evil 4 inspiration took precedence and the plot point of the villagers worshipping the Higher Being that lives there was cut. Yet nevertheless, the 'Master of the Lake' whom Nennai intended to be the village's Higher Being still remains as the last trace of SiNiSistar's homage to Innsmouth. Since in lore, the 'Master of the Lake' is the fully-matured form of the Otherworlder Slugs Rabiane/Lelia give birth to when they lose to the Observer/Great Seere, Abomination Broodling Harbinger, and the Father (When you fail to break out of the illusion) respectively.
This of course, carries the terrifying implication that an Otherworlder on the same level as the Great Seere and Father has already achieved what the final bosses of the two games could not: being born and inhabiting the mortal world.
EDIT: While I'm not sure if this can be counted since it's a reference in the first game rather the second, but I'll just mention it here. You must be registered to see the links, they mention that the first boss of the series; that mass of flesh that Rabiane has to shoot before it reaches her, actually has a name. According to Nennai, the boss' name is Ashley, named after the Resident Evil 4 character. Their design was inspired by G's final form in Resident Evil 2 and Pedeleon from Ultraman. Apart from the first level, Ashley would reappear again on the third-to-last stage of the first game as the elevator boss referred to as Executioner + Ashley, who is notably a boss so greatly despised by the community as per the vocal outrage in the SiNiSistar Discord server whenever they are mentioned.
That's all I got for now. I really appreciate that you're going out of your way to list down all the references the game makes to other franchises. Keep it up!
i wouldn't care if the link worked, i hate discord for this, i even went to NoR thread and couldn't find even one.i made a mod that change (visually) normal state boobs to enlarged boobs. And when you are in enlarged boobs state, it becomes Super enlarged boobs instead. i put the download link in Night of Revenge community discord, i'm mainly active there and there are plenty of NoR mods in it too. Sorry and hope you guys are ok with this extra stepYou must be registered to see the linksView attachment 4738036
This may be a stretch but I'm willing to believe 'Mr. Hands', the priest you encounter at the north-east village, is at least partially inspired by Amy's design from FAITH: The Unholy Trinity. Exceptional horror game, btw! I totally recommend it.Can anyone help me out compiling the references and easter eggs in SiNiSistar 2?

wish we saw more of thisThe headcrabs? I feel like that's more the case with the first game, no? Where they took over Rabiane's body. Here they just suck you dry.

no needmust i play the first game to understand this one?
When you say it like that so succinctly... It's terrifying to consider the possibility that despite all the experiments the cultists did to Ashley, there might have been a small part of them left that may still be consciously thinking like a human. I suppose it would be considered a mercy that Rabiane was able to put them down during her very enthusiastic walk across Kessaria. Even if some sample parts of Ashley were reused by the cultists to replace the head of an Executioner to create their new murder-death machine that may or may not be against the Great Seere's eldritch family plan for Rabiane.Eek... never knew about the lore behind 'Ashley'. And now that I have I realise now the history of that location.
... that said, it stood out to me more as the entrance of a mine than a homestead. In my head cannon I imagine Ashley was still remotely human while she was still a test subject, only to finally succumb to the mutations while she hid deep in that mine that would ironically imprison her. Worse, when she escaped the cult's laboratory some part of her still hoped to reverse what they did to her because there's that one discarded tome at the entrance. Perhaps she saw one of the cult members using it when she was still their thrall and took it with her out of some vain hope it would save her? Poor woman.
Now that you mention it, I do wish there was a SiNiSistar equivalent to the Fishing Hamlet in Bloodborne. With all the Lovecraftian elements in the game, you'd think Nennai would've already added in a level where Lelia gets raped by a bunch of fishfolk.Makes sense that that north-east village is a port town, too. Kinda wish there was water ambience now...
Not official, but anAnyhoo! I had no idea there is an official discord server for the series? Is it still around?
No, but you're missing out if you play the sequel first. It plays great homage to the original, + its soundtrack is better.must i play the first game to understand this one?
Aye, it's a fun story trope! Origin stories for monsters in general fascinate me to no end. =DWhen you say it like that so succinctly... Yeah... The more you read into what happened in the first game, the more glad one becomes that things in SiNiSistar 2 hadn't deteriorated to the point that an Ashley had been created at all in Arcezon. Though I can understand the arguments that perhaps some townsfolk do deserve to get Ashley'd...
I mean, I'm not Nennai, and while I said the north-east village was a great place for it, I'd consider a DLC that adds a south-west section connected to the vampiric swamplands. There you could easily support a fishing hamlet that is half-sunken from abandonment and devoid of anything remotely human anymore, save for perhaps a few breeding pens for captives. Now that you mention it, I do wish there was a SiNiSistar equivalent to the Fishing Hamlet in Bloodborne. That, and just me wanting something with a similar atmosphere. I just love the Fishing Hamlet's aesthetic, it feels like a Lovecraft novel brought to life. It's that one area in Bloodborne that I always look forward to revisiting, even I can't say the same about those shark monsters and the random Winter Lanterns (Why!?) scattered about.
