... so, I completed the new content. Pretty underwhelming, tbh.
It's nice to see the spiders make a return yet the original game did FAR better conveying their terrifying existence.
The battle against them itself was over too quick. No spider queen either. I was expecting a deeper cave but when I ran across the chest at the back of it so soon I was simply '... oh. That's it?' Maybe my expectations were too high...
The town quest, while interesting in its execution, did nothing for me either. I appreciate the concept of the cult wanting to deal with the sisters after Lelia hit the North-east village but how they went about it was nothing short of stupid. I mean, seriously? One priest and two elderly men? You'd think if one wanted the sisters out of the way one would resort to more... brutal methods. Brainwash some muscle perhaps? It just seemed like such a feeble act of revenge...
Again, I get the concept and appreciate it but much like the spider encounter it had no real bite to it.
