The same thing happened to me. I only realized I could do that right at the end. It did feel more immersive, but god damn it became excruciating at times when I had to travel through the zombie cemetery for the 16th fucking time lmao

Extremely low likelihood of any bandit faction making an appearance that isn't mutated or corrupted in some grotesque way. It's just not that kind of game. The most you can realistically hope for is another minor event like the ones in town where some guy pulls out a knife and coerces Lilia into having sex, but even that is doubtable.
They should add more variation of humans. I mean the game is dark yes but its dark too to r@pe your saviour. They can also add lore to it that maybe humans were the reason sister's extinct (or lower in numbers)

1. Craft a certain item near the end of the game.
2. Go to the location as image, use that item and defeat the boss spawned in.
3. (optional) You can also use that item here for completion sake.
Edit: If you struggle on that boss, I would recommend stick on left or right pillar (depend on where that boss is located) and spam Sword Magic while midair.
