funny when you say that, Uu (the devs) is a japanese not chinese.I really liked this game, but my God would I like to give the creator a piece of my mind. Every Chinese game is an experience when it comes to backwards-ass controls, but this one takes the fucking cake. This might actually be the keyboard game with the worst controls I have ever played. I have almost twenty hours of gameplay, and I can still barely get my character to do what I want.
While it wasn't as much of a problem at the start, since combat is much slower, it ramped up to become a major problem near the end, and the controls ended up being extremely infuriating during the final boss, and I think the secret boss might be impossible? I had to resort to safespotting for the latter. It wouldn't be half as bad if you didn't need to manually hold sprint all the time. I don't even know why there is a sprint button in this game: with the current movement options there should be just one movement speed, "sprint" speed, and nothing else. Seriously, what were the creators thinking?
OK, so unless you're somehow expected to play with your thumb on the V key, that leaves you three fingers for the jump button and the three attack buttons. It's already a bitch how you're forced to use the ring finger, the weakest of the fingers, on the all-important jump key, but it also makes it really awkward to use the remaining three attack buttons with two fingers, especially once you start needing them in quick succession, and especially when you need to press C while holding V for the fucking bomb arrows. While holding down shift and keeping your ring finger on the Z key. What the fuck.
Here's the control scheme I would use:
Or better: M for the magic attack, K for the bow, that way you don't need to do an awkward two-finger press for bomb arrows: you use your two strong fingers, middle and pointer, and the pointer, the most dexterous, determines the type of attack. This way, you can even put jump on L if you're allergic to putting anything useful on the space bar. You can put the menu on N or something.
- WASD for movement (well actually, I'm partial to ESDF myself, but WASD is standard);
(This way if you need to have a mandatory 100% press time sprint button, it doesn't paralyse your hand.)- E for interact (it's sometimes annoying how you can't attack when in front of an interactable object);
- Spacebar for jump;
- J for normal attack;
- K for magic attack;
- L for the bow;
- M for the menu options.
If you need to keep it reversed with movement on the arrow keys, either put jump on the spacebar, so you can have the bow on Z, magic on X, and attack on C, or else you gotta use A, S, D somehow. At the very least, make attack and magic C and V, with the bow on X. Honestly, I feel like you could basically make any random swap to the current control scheme, and it could only be an improvement.
if you're ever played any RPG indies from japanese dev, the common would be using Z,X,C,V,Space,B,M. since 1990 that has been the way. your finger would easily sink to those controls (asian people prefer using from inky to thumb finger for flick press rather than thumb to middle ring like common west people)
