i just tryed it, same for me, i think they fucked up the game, we have to wait until they fix it, game is also freezing and the new item wont work on old saves

I would avoid compressed or compact versions like the plague. They seem to be more prone to errors and missing content. Not only that but you have no idea what was removed or added, on top of not knowing if the save (of a compressed version) will be compatibly with the next update until it is updated.
I just avoid them.
