Check on the zonegfx.com blog. If it isn't there, it's unlikely to be found on any of 'these sites'.

yep not there sadly. i'm new to this, is there a way to check the date of an uploaded item on renderosity? if this is very new i suppose it makes sense, since this author's other assets seem to be uploaded on "these sites"

On the "readme file" at the right column there is at least the year the item is published and sometimes the date.
But it will give you no information on the probability to find it. An item is available on "these sites" only if someone buys it and gives it to one site. It may happens for old items or very new items as well. And the best way to know is to ask google.
