Don't suppose there are any cheats or anything? I swear the difficulty has spiked dramatically since I last played this. The mimic and the zombies kill me in a single hit.

I used cheat engine to freeze the hp (it's a 'double' value) but it causes some issues with cutscenes. If you froze your hp to 100 at the end of the mimic cutscene, and one further on, you will get a "defeated" sign and you get dropped back into the last save.

As for the difficulty, Carpet adressed it as "he can't be coddling the players". Supposedly there are ways to raise your hp by looking for specific npcs but in my calculations it only changes you getting one shot to being two shot. So the dev is full of shit.

This author produced much more interesting works. The current project is so-so. But thanks anyway!
I kinda like this one but the gameplay is dogshit. Our guy here thinks he's the next Miyazaki.

also added save file because the new area is cancerous (drop in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming).
lol I wanted to see what you meant so I dropped down from the area your save is at. I got slightly tapped by a snail upon landing and immediately died. Could they not have done like... the most basic of balancing passes?

I really want to not be too critical, cause this is the exact subject matter I want out of a game and the animations are top notch. THEORETICALLY the gameplay would be fine... it's just like the enemy design and balancing that absolutely sucks. Stuff like the homing exploding orbs or the zombie kobolds that immediately accelerate at you, combined with hitboxes that are always larger than they appear and damage numbers that 1 or 2 shot you... it's just a miserable experience. Way too often, the best option for dealing with any situation is to trigger the enemy aggro and then run as far as possible to lead them off a cliff (or to outrun the homing orb's detonation timer). And that's just... really not fun gameplay. That's not at all the type of experience you want from a Castlevania-esque game. Anyway, thank god for you all posting saves.

welp i dont care what kind of fucked up wannabe the creator of this game might be but im sure into their games so thats what matters
about that.... you shouldnt be surprise if the dev abandons this game, i mean he abandon 3 or 4 game projects he never finished it.

Starting from his very first project, the prequel Tailbound, you expect something cool from the author, but it's the same thing over and over again. Here it is, for a whole year for the sake of bullying in the dungeon and a couple of very mediocre scenes with a whore wolf. But someone is actually paying for this garbage.

Well, like most japanese crpgs. In RPG Maker or not. But I'm not defending him here, his reaction to feedback to the increased difficulty of this new map speaks for itself.

If I had to describe Carpetwurm I would say he is a guy with incredible potential to make a banger of a game but will never do so because he's his own worst enemy. He wants to make a porn game that's way too hard but could probably make either one of those options well if he would just drop one or the other. If you want to make it an incredibly difficult metroidvania, then drop the porn because anyone playing for the game isn't going to care about the porn. And if it's about the porn, what's the point of making the game harder than the average player can do?

It's gonna look good, it's gonna play good, it's going to have mixed results leaning towards being mostly negative, and then it's gonna get abandoned and die and carpetwurm will probably has another meltdown and the cycle continues.

I think the scenes are quite good, myself. At least the animated ones. The single-image game overs in the newest update are pretty meh.
