I risk saying that ToH does attempt to do things in a coherent way - whether or not it's immersive, or lore-friendly, it's up to each one. The plot is that Sanguine decides to intervene and teach the Dragonborn a lesson in humility. After all, with or without Akatosh's blessing, a human shouldn't feel entitled to use the Daedra to further their own situation, so Sanguine decides to turn the tables and have a little fun. There's an attempt to create a coercive scenario where Sanguine kidnaps someone, then forces you to accept a contract where you will destroy your own reputation in order to spare them. The main story follows a stage system but the episodes along the way are picked form a pool that you can exclude mostly anything from, so you can decide what's too much for you. There's a lot of demeaning and arrogant characters that you have to submit to, but in the end you can gain the upper hand. Unlike others, like Slaverun or Amorous Adventures, this mod tries to stay out of the main game's way, which means you can even ignore it and nothing will feel different, but provides a story that you can follow in parallel. For example, there's a "false Dragonborn" story where you're forced to admit to the Jarl of Whiterun that you lied about being the Dragonborn, acknowledge a "true Dragonborn" as the real one and have them tag along as your companion, taking credit for your heroic deeds. Don't say it's the top of the crop, but it's all good fun, and the principle of leaving the base game alone works great for those who prefer to play a long playthrough with thousands of mods, rather than short runs dedicated to trying out specific scenarios. ToH has almost no conflicts at all.If the mod adds those themes in an immersive and enjoyable way, i'm all for it. But degradation for degradation's sake with no rhyme or reason for it is personally not my forte. Obviously anyone can play what they want to play![]()
There are much worse mods in terms of gratuity. Look up Wolfsclub if you want to see a mod centred on gratuitous torture and mutilation. It's old and requires a bunch of even older mods, took me days to get it running out of curiosity and, in the end, it's definitely not something for me.
