[I find myself here again for some reason, out of random curiosity. I knew there’d be nothing. But it still actually kinda crazy there’s…nothing. It is…completely baffling to me how there aren’t any progress reports at all. I don’t even know if I’ve ever seen this from a game development project like this. Big companies? Sure. But Even the most shitty projects on here will have some art or something sometimes. Something about what they worked on. But they don’t even care enough to even do that. Really just confirms I don’t think they even want to work on this game anymore. There is no passion or love for this project. I’m an… …aspiring game developer myself and if you want people to see. You want people to be excited. Making progress feels great. I mean just compare this to redaze/the extra day and that was a DOWNGRADE from how much they blabbed about the first game release. Extra art. Previews. Announcements. Statements from voice actors. Holiday arts. Polls. Hell, remember the fucking 3d rendered backgrounds from redaze? There’s really only one reason for developers to just be radio silent like this. They just don’t have ANYTHING to show. At all. Nothing worth showing, nothing they’re excited about. Nothing they think we’d be excited about. Nothing they’re proud of.
What you're not getting here is that Cypress, the original dev, is not working on this, he handled the whole thing to criticalpiss who is a publisher and apparently has a team for developing games (the rumors are that he has only 1 dude coding), so no, Cypress won't publish anything because he doesn't have to show anything now, still didn't show nothing when he was working on it.

On the sides, Critical Bliss is also doing NTRaholic remix, and that one is totally in the mist too. If you go to the steam forums of Critical Bliss published games, you'll see on many of them people complaining because some game were never updated again and will be on early access forever, and the ones that didn't come out had no info about anything.

What I still don't understand is: why haven't they put the 1.7 update on here? It's already in Itch.io, and I submitted an update request a while ago. While it's not a lot of content, it's likely to be the last we get unless the demo actually comes out, and I'd like to try it at least without giving them money I'm not certain they deserve after this whole ordeal.

No one has provided them a copy to share here, most likely. Why should the uploaders, people volunteering their time to upload games to F95Zone, pay $5 or $10 for the game?

I mean - you don't want to pay for it.... neither do they. Someone will have to take the plunge and spend the money to get it and then share it here before uploaders will do something. Unless they happen to see it somewhere else available for free to nab, first.

Also, it adds nothing to the game. It's just "Bonus audio"

--- so as someone has already said...
The grift goes on:

And...

V1.7 was released will there be a way to download it here?
unless you willing to pay 5$

If you want some "bonus audio"... here you go:
Does anybody have more of the audio diaries?

These are the only ones I can find:

Kira

Fair Enough, although I am surprised no one with the original version was given free access to the update. Maybe they have to buy it again JUST for the new audio? Because in that case, It'd be somehow worse what they're trying to get away with.

I have it on steam, i really don't care about audio and never did, i feel like it doesn't add anything. Also there's no point to update something for just audio nobody asked for and some spare artwork.

are they still receiving money for for doing nothing?
Not really. Kind of a "yes and no" situation.

They shut down the Subscribestar back on 25th May 2024 because that was the time they handed production over almost entirely to their publisher Critical Bliss. So they shut down the SubscribeStar because they said they didn't want to keep taking money each month when they weren't actively working on anything during that time frame. They explained Cypress Zeta and his team have no direct influence on the project or its release anymore. Critical Bliss have given it to their own development team to finish it off and fine tune it for release, meanwhile Cypress Zeta is basically just a creative consultant at this point who is supposed to keep the overall "vision" of the game on track but it's otherwise out of their hands. He's not involved in the coding, art, development, etc. anymore but should still have access to what this new team is doing with his project. While he's said he still has "full creative control", in reality it's not clear how much say he actually has if he disagrees with something. And while he previously said he believes we'd get a demo in "Late 2025", it is Critical Bliss that decides the release date and decides if they're going to even do a demo at all.

They reopened the SubscribeStar at the start of 2025 but it was because they started development on a new game called Ginger's Paradise. So the Subscribestar is now meant to be for people supporting that, but they've also been posting Snow Daze blooper audio, bonus audio (which was included in the 1.7 release), and art sketches on there since they still own the intellectual property and it's what a lot of their backers are asking for.

So, yes Cypress Zeta is being paid by Subscribestar backers but it's for a different game they're working on. Meanwhile Critical Bliss won't be paid until the game they have is actually published which there has been no indication of doing so far. As a developer/publisher, Critical Bliss has plenty of games that they're working on and I'd imagine Snow Daze: Redaze isn't a priority for them given it risks running into issues with Steam's content policy and it has a fairly niche audience in comparison to some of their other upcoming projects.

Just to correct that Cypress opened his subs again to announce some shitty bonus audios or whatever, Ginger Paradise was later announced for what i believe keep getting a little money from it, since the only thing he was posting was audios.
