Yes but you said this

are you back tracking? Tell me where in your 3 sentences do you mention Patreons? I see Devs and F95 members. Do you have a problem remembering what you post?
No, I am altering my commentary to address your comments. You said Patreon doesn't care about 2MM f95 people b/c not all of them pay. Granting you that, aka agreeing, I adjusted my comment accordingly and said the people who do pay still pay Patreons bills.

You clearly have nothing of additional value to add to the conversation at this point. Again thanks for contributing your thoughts. Hope you have a good day!

What have added to this thread exactly? Do you actually believe the title of this thread to be totally accurate and true?
Oh yes I forgot, lets get a bunch of pirates together and storm the evil Patreon overlord and force them to do as we wish.:ROFLMAO:

I have an idea why don't you contact new Devs and tell them not to put their games on the Evil Overlords site?:ROFLMAO:

You could start with this one https://f95zone.to/threads/secret-boss-new-neighbours-v0-1-paperboyproductions.48133/ if you so desire.

Wouldn't stop any minor from click yes regardless though.
Clicked yes as a minor. StopRightThereCriminalScum.jpg ;)
I know its not ideal, but I know some places that require you to enter cc details, set up a paypal, or similar for age verification.
I avoid those sites like the plague, or use a temp/gift credit card if I have to. All a site needs to know about me is an email and password for registration, and assume that everything else is being packaged and resold to marketers (at best).
Needless to say, outside of a site confirming age of majority for live-action adult performers, being asked for gov't ID is right out.

And I'd meant to ask this before, but I was half-asleep (so my bad):
I'm not sure how confirming the age of people accessing adult content relates to a determination of whether anime-style content is sexually depicting a minor, could you break that down for me?

Today's society is all about wrap kids in bubble wrap and put ta tinfoil hat on their head to shelter them from anything and everything. Kinda make me worried for generations to come.
It really is, and it really does. And I particularly worry that people will give up their freedoms for a false sense of security. But I take a small comfort in the fact that I do see people speaking out against the societal swaddling and try to follow their own path even if they stumble on the way.

All the stuff about brand management and clumsy enforcement is true. But...

There's a number of people asking for material that breaks r7 on this website. There's at least one game that blatantly breaks r7 but is still on f95 because its got a large enough fanbase that the mods let it slide. There's a suspicious number of artists who are no longer active due to legal problems. And that's only what slips through the cracks of moderation.

Even if we can't pinpoint the fire there is a lot of smoke in the air. You can bet its no different on patreon.

I'm sure some well intentioned people have got kicked off patreon. I'm also sure there are some people who are at best willfully blind to where their money comes from, and some who are deliberately trying to subvert the rules.

TL DR: People suck, everyone suffers for it.
I've definitely not been lurking on here long enough, what game is that?

My personal stance that I hold for pragmatic reasons (The slippery slope is real) is that unless we're talking about actual physical harm to an actual person, then Rule 34 of the internet holds. I don't like it sometimes. Saw a post offsite where someone ordered a custom Greta Thunberg realdoll, which is creepy as hell But it helps me sleep better at night trying to adhere to a consistent principle.

You have the right of free speech

I'd also be willing to bet that adult games pay the bills over there at Patreon.
You have no rights on the internet except what rights any given website allows you.

There is no free speech here.

Also, adult games aren't the top earners at Patreon. They would lose thousands but it wouldn't slow business.

Patreon could go on without adult games developers. Not all adult games developers could go on without Patreon. There are more than a few of us can't support them anywhere else due to PayPal restrictions and i've got no interest in changing my online payments.

Thanks for responding Avaron. My "argument" was never based on "free speech". I argued you have the right or freedom of speech (in some countries) but not the freedom from consequences. So I essentially agree with you. That doesn't stop people from having the ability to voice their opinions both literally and economically.

I went to your link and it sadly didn't include any adult games listed so pulled up this one and have to say comparing them it looks like it would be a pretty significant loss if they lost adult games.

Hard to argue magnitude b/c not all dollars are listed with the adult list. Looking at the other tabs I think you are right in that adult games likely make up roughly 10-15% of revenue (guessing). Any business that lost 10% of revenues would hurt. Most companies witnessed about an 8%-16% drop in revenues during the recession and it crushed or nearly crushed them. I think if adult content was insignificant they'd have cut ties to it along time ago.

But I hear and understand your predicament with Paypal etc.

I guess what everyone is saying is I/we shall have to embrace big floppy boobs and games that all kind of look alike.

Also to clarify I am not advocating for underage anything. I am advocating for women with small breasts and narrow hips be allowed in games. Or big eyes or no eyes. I really just don't see how this ends well for the community as we continue to be dictated to how our games must look etc.

The love for Patreon on here is near hysterical levels...like don't question the dear leader hysterical. Wow. I certainly hope some of the people who are such strong advocates for Patreon are at least getting paid for their efforts. Just wow.

But clearly no one particularly cares I guess so I'm moving on with my life too. Have a great day everyone!

That's true. They may not pay but they do consume. If they, the pirates, want to continue to consume they will have to speak up.
Why ? Patreon exist since 2013, while I played my first adult game in the early 90's. Patreon or not, we will still have something to consume.

Asking for a change in Patreon policy is relatively stupid and useless. They will not listen, especially when the choice is either taking the risk to loose (now less than) 10% of their customers, or taking the risk to loose their whole business.
As for the creators, they are grown men and women. Patreon have their Terms of Services easily available and you're surely given a link to them when you create a page as creator. It's up to the creators to read them, then either agree or use another platform, period. And if they haven't read them or wanted to play with fire, it's their sole responsibility.

You have the right of free speech but you do not have the right of no consequences. Patreon has the right, but not the right to avoid the consequences.
The only consequences they can't avoid are the legal ones. You think their ToS aren't clear enough ? You think they banned you despite their ToS ? Go in justice, period. Except this legal aspect, they are your host and have all the rights, while you are the guest and have nothing more than duties.
As for you, you just have the right to agree or not. But in no way you have the right to say that devs shouldn't use Patreon. It's their decision and, whatever if they have or not legit reason for this, you have absolutely no say on it.

Well they are https://f95zone.to/threads/room-for-rent-v8-0-beta-celavie-group.33328/ but the body proportions of females in games etc.... are decided by the Devs, not Patreon. You show me where Patreon states female have to have huge tits and huge arses to be considered of legal age.

I have not been banned form anything. I have no idea where you got that idea? I assume you are perhaps using the collective "you"?

I did not say what Dev should or should not use Petreon nor did I demand anything. Of course its their decision. Never said it wasn't. I suggested that if anything people who pay Patreon to play these games should push back on Patreon. Those are the paying customers not the Devs.

Enjoy your day.

To be fair, most anime characters are minors, and it's pretty easy to distinguish older characters (all those 20-something elders) in most anime styles; usually they have smaller eyes, smaller heads, longer faces, don't wear school uniforms, wear make-up, etc.
I mean, it's pretty easy to guess who's 14 and who's 20 here:

Most mature anime have older looking characters, different from all those made mainly for kids/teens. Yet, this look/style is rarely seem in hentai games:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

And no, breast sizes has nothing to do with it. Women with small breasts still look their age in real life:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Yeeeah, this one looks like a kid, sorry, but that's a bad excuse:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
And if they look like a kid but are actually a 200yo vampire, they still look like a kid. It doesn't matter that this man is 27, if you think he's sexy then you like kids, stop the bullshit:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Do I agree on banning Loli characters? Yes, they are pretty obvious and easy to spot. Do I agree on banning most anime characters? No, but I could understand the decision if that was the case. Personally I don't think that any kind of 2D art should be a problem - it's fake.

"my house, my rules". There is nothing to add, nothing to debate. If Patreon wanted it, there would be nothing to complain about, as long as the rules are clear and defined. Patreon is not a democracy.
Problem is rules are not clear at all and more and more restrictive.

Jay Naylor suggested that the owners are trying to sell Patreon to a big tech corp and so clean their content. We all know how much Facebook loves sex.
