The censored version that you get by buying it from Steam is pretty funny in comparison. They cut so much of the gameplay that three of the five areas became "walk through a simple maze with almost no obstacles". None of the areas have any "gameplay", of course. It does track "not corruption", though there aren't that many ways to get any after the cuts and there's only one ending regardless. All-in-all it's not the greatest way to spend an hour, even if you're using the time to download the actual game patch from Kagura.

Good job. I mean... Even the post you replied to said it has the added content too (as in, the latest version)...
Then there are these, as well.

That said, I have no idea where they said 3-4 years have passed - don't think it was in the prologue, at least. I bet it was just easier to make it Steam-compatible this way, or something.
(EDIT: m'kay, there actually are a very few references about years having passed since her acquiring the power behind some of the doors; my bad)

------------------
In other news: I just started playing, nice so far -though I'm not THAT much in love with the TL, tbh-, completed the school door.
Some have mentioned here in the thread there are high-corruption versions of scenes (well, some scenes...). I'm assuming that goes for the QTE and being grabbed "mini-scenes" as well?
Is it only for certain enemies, or, like a general rule? And what's the threshold? Maybe there are even 3 stages?
Just curious.

Thx!
As far as i know the corruption only affects how hard is the final battle, theres some extra dialogue when you go back and hit some thresholds like 50% and the lust crest gets bigger, but theres no different version of the events

Some porn games are sold on Steam with the sexual content reduced or removed, but with a patch available somewhere other than Steam that adds it back in. This is just the first one I've seen with such drastic differences.

hold on
yes, everyone is aware of that, that's what kagura games does all the time
i'm talking about the removed gameplay elements like corruption and shit
are you saying that even with the patch applied some gameplay elements are missing?
or are you saying that they're missing without the patch? because that would, like, make sense of course lol
i thought you meant that even with the patch applied it was missing stuff

Holy fuck, it must have take them more time to make the SFW Steam "cut" than actually translating and uncensoring the real game. I mean... How the eff would they even call the labyrinth, ffs! xD
Un-patched Kagura games on Steam are just empty containers.
But I think that's the smart way to sell these games on Steam. So they can even sell them in countries like Germany that would otherwise ban them.

I don't blame them. However, while I don't know about what all types of content cause issues in various places, I think they could have made less changes and ended up with a version that's still like the full version but without sexual content. Leave the school mostly intact as a "run from the killer" minigame, take the clothes stripping and such away from the forest (RPG) area and the final area, and you have four of five doors handled. I don't see a simple set of changes for the bunny area, though. Maybe make something that's a mix of "avoid the grabby guys" and simple fetch quests like the couple that are already there?

It may not be worth Kagura's and/or the original developer's time, but it's an interesting thought.

I don't think they expect anyone to play their games without the patch. So they don't care if the game without the patch is fun or not.
Sometimes the patch is even bigger than the game.

I feel like Kagura's idea of selling translated porn game by neutering them first before shipping just adds more development time to the people who already know that Kagura sells pornographic games. I think if they focus on translating and uncensoring the game first then shipping it on steam with the 18+ NSFW tag will expedite their long ass translation times. Then after they ship the 18+ NSFW version, they can release the neutered censored version on countries where they would originally get banned like Germany and such under steam because in the end, they'll always end up posting the uncesor patch anyways.

In many cases it's not just countries like Germany, but also Steam itself. For example everything 18+ together with a school setting (like this game) has a very high chance to get the game banned. I bet Kagura these days makes most the money on Steam, so they can't risk a ban. Because Steam bans are so random, they are extra careful.
