A tutorial in this game, well..
I might be crazy, but this seems to be one of those 'experience required' games where the best tutorial is to just play it?
A Manual.txt that describes what the stats do and how damage gets modified when attacking other colored zones is good.
Outside of some help with the numbers, the best possible tutorial would have to be one of those -Custom Tailored- missions.
A completely scripted sequence you can choose (Possibly a tiny door next to the big one you start the normal game through)
since this is a no-reward area, you can add in some stuff like Invulnerability, characters healing to full when KO instead of capture.
(Also having the tutorial quickly fill you out with a large variety of skills so you can practice the game mechanics.)
Doesn't need to have all the skills or enemy types, possibly remove the H side of things from the tutorial to narrow things down.
If this 'Tutorial' is something players new or old can quickly run through to refresh or understand game flow, that's good enough.
Those are thoughts from my wider audience perspective.
Personally never ran into anything resembling difficulty, so I can't say what is needed to learn it faster, just assume.
