AFAIK, spoilering doesn't help, it still loads the images, but hides them. Setting them as thumbnails though only loads the thumbnails unless clicked on.

Which is why I usually only do a few full-size, the more 'repetitive' images I put as thumbnails.

It's probably a question for the site admin

It really does help when scrolling through the threads on a mobile device. The pics won't load until you tap the spoiler tab to unhide hide them.
