I Believe what happens a lot of the time is those creators enjoy drawing and they have a bare bones story they really want to draw, so they draw that very beginning story out and they really like it, its just translating your want to draw and do a story gets over shadowed by having to make it playable and enjoyable to the public. what I think happened here is hes been making this game for years now and its not like he doesn't enjoy drawing hes live streaming all the time. so I'm sure hes at that stage where the story (even though its not too crazy) has made it difficult to continue. that's my take on it at least, if I was into drawing I don't think id ever get tired of drawing my fav DC girls going at it, but to translate that into a game and having to make a story behind ever little drawing I make could, get a little tiring. Now I'm not giving him an excuse to not release updates. Im just trying to shed light on why I THINK hed fall behind. You only need a basic understanding of CS fundamentals to create a VN. You can pretty much tell which devs have never worked in a professional capacity nor in a project-based environment by how often they fumble the bag.
I will never understand the numerous devs that announce dates they're not 100% certain they can hit. Its like these guys are still actively doing dev work up to the day they're supposed to push to prod. On the day your stuff is supposed to go live, it should be push button. If you're still doing dev work the day you push to prod there is something fundamentally wrong with your process and you shouldn't have announced a target you can't hit.
Applies to most VN devs tbh. I don't get the mentality. They have the luxury of choosing their release dates without managerial overhead and still fail.
