I love reading the comments on this game, because its always the same, but always by a new batch of people. Its cool to watch how similar people are, its kind of reassuring in a complex changing world. The % of comments is the same, some about it being a hustle, what it could be, etc. Its nice.
I wish this game was everything it was promised to be when it was first pitched. For 18K a month it could be... But you know what i realized, Its not going to be that. Why would it be? This game is something like 10 years old. I remember when it first came out, I "contributed" then. Go back and watch the Lois, Mercy, Harley animations. There is a reason those cells are separate from all the others, those were the original cells. The game was pitched to be built around those, and when those were done THEN it would move on, then Harley got added, and then the "cells" happens. Even early on the first few cells had multiple shots / angles stories , etc, but by then the updates had went from monthly to bi , to whenever. When patreon first started you only got paid if you released content that month, the options where "Contribute when new content is released (with a multiplier for X times a month)", "Or contribute monthly when goals/ content is produced". They changed that.
I guess to get to the point. This a 216,00$ a year pay check (before patreons cut, tax etc). "Gunsmoke" Is easily making a six figure yearly retracing the same 6 or so bodies (i really feel like thats over estimating it) at this point they arent going to lose that 18k. They know that, they arent going to change.
SO, enjoy what it is. Sunsets/ gunsmokes art is really good. It always has been. Its sad that ALL of their work is now centered on this, but honestly i feel like looking at the art, If they werent making this much off of patreon they would have stopped drawing by now (we've all seen artist we like just stop producing and fade away). You can see some artist keep evolving , i dont think anyone thinks the characters from one update to next is "fresh art". there is a reason the clothes are flat and there arent things like "skin-dentations" etc.
Sorry if this seems like a ranty complaint. I wasnt trying to do that, just more of a comment on what should be expected from Sunset/gunsmokes. It is, what it is, and what it is, is good enough.
