This post just seems very poorly thought out altogether.
For one, the game is debatably not even half way done. You can't complain there's no hardcore stuff like "monster rapes" when he's barely made enough progress to even have basic sex scenes for most heroines.
.............
To your point, progress on this game is PAINFULLY slow, so i can sympathize with that. But as far as quality, they have consistently nailed it. Sunsetrider's historically made plenty of quality action-filled comics, so it will come eventually (assuming they finish it).
Well, man, fair enough. At the end of the day we all have different tastes. I can see how some people would enjoy a combination of a management game with a super hero fetish. I did mention that there were some positives (the overall concept, the art, and reasonably funny dialogues).
let's talk a bit about hentai games, however. I would say that there are, overall, two different schools of thought here.... so to speak.
for one you have games where, as you mentioned, the emphasis is on playing the game with a bit of hentai as a reward (especially highly addictive, time consuming games like RPGs or management games that involve a lot of grind).
However there are other games that focus on sex more and require less grind (some visual novels, slave trainers like Slave Lord, games where you can customize models like AG3, Honey Select etc).
Honestly, I tend to prefer the second type. I played a lot of Final Fantasy VII and VIII games, so it's not like I don't like RPGs, but I would argue that if I mainly want to play a good RPG then there are better options than the hentai games.
But, different people, different taste.
Regarding Something Unlimited, however, I feel like there are other issues involved.
1) the creators are obviously not that interested in the hentai aspect of the game.
You and many others have already agreed that the development is painfully slow, tons of characters but nothing to do with them, some people mentioned it was years before there was even any sex in the scenes. Even by the standards of the first type of game discussed, this kind of process betrays a clear lack of interest in that aspect of the game.
2)Just to confirm the first point, the rare H scenes are, well, not 'scenes'. I'm sorry but a scene is not one static image with a lot of narrative (so so written by the way, we'll get to that). I know, producing good art/animation is time consuming, other games take shortcuts. I still think the best games Hentai games make more of an effort in this area.
3)The writing is, in terms of erotica, meh. For example, in the early strip scenes the words are nothing more than a mechanical description of a girl dancing on stage. There are no feelings involved and the words could really apply to any stripper in the world. That makes the H part uninspired and dull. Ok, they're mind controlled, so they act like robots..... yawn.
They could have described them as aware but unable to control their body, for example, thereby making it possible to discuss how they feel in that situation, maybe personalize some of the different heroines approach to being mind controlled etc
Instead, they just keep adding characters that at the end of the day all act the same, like brainwashed robots. Again seems to me like they don't care about hentai they only care about heroes, quests etc. Frankly, it's also a waste of time. Tons of characters that all act the same imo just make the game more boring.
4) The main character is more interested in building gadgets than doing any of the hot chicks in the game.....ok and mind controls Lois Lane to watch her sit in her room? Damn, this game is worse than dating in real life, never mind the 'unlimited' possibilities.
5) Not that much fun as a management game, imo..... lots of clicking, but in the end the results of all that clicking are pretty random (heist succeeded, did not succeed.... ok, whatev). I haven't seen anything that really affects the story, or changes the way characters act or feel, or ways in which you can affect main parts of the story with your decisions (yeah, more of that might be added, but I don't trust these guys to get there, honestly, good writers just don't spend years setting a scenario, good writers start with smaller but interesting interactions with less characters and then gradually expand the scope of the story)
anyways, it's all just for a chat, we'll agree to disagree. But still, yeah, for me a name such as "something extremely limited" would have been a lot more fitting..... and the writing is, in terms of erotica, very poor. Just a thought.
