Edit : Solved my own problem, but i'm keeping this up as a FAQ and guide for others, step by step at the bottom
This might or might come off as a repeat question, but I tried searching the thread, and only got partial answers to it, and those answers changed so i'm not sure.
I recently got a new laptop, and I had thought I moved all the saves for most F95 games by moving the entire local, locallow and that third folder there, but now it seems I didn't, so i'm asking if I can get my saves again.
- Is there a location where the saves go to ? Some did say it went to the registry, and one did post a rough location guide to find it, and i'm currently searching for it.
- Can you actually copy the saves or said registry files and move them ? In that case, if I copied them earlier, I can easily find them , if not I could start up my old laptop briefly.
-Alternatively, a save from around a full 2.25 game would do just about anything I wanted, as I want to try out some new events since then.
- I've located a 2.20 save I got sometime, but i'm not really sure where I should place that.
Edit :
- Okay , so I might've found the registry file where I put a new save which only had parts of the intro, but I have no idea where to change it from here or how to replace it.
Edit 2 :
I might've actually done it myself by now, but i'll leave this post here for anyone else searching for how to do it.
Step 1 : Play the game and make a save
Step 2 : Open regedit via the start menu / search function
Step 3 : Either search someguy or something unlimited and click next search result until you get to either, or scroll down to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Someguy\Something Unlimited
In that folder you'll see a lot of suSlot01 , 02 etc., I believe that's the specifics of each save file.
Step 4 : Right-click and choose extract on either the someguy or the something unlimited folder , pick a save location and a name
Step 5 : Transfer your extracted file by any way to whatever other computer you want to move it to.
Step 6 : Open the folder on your new computer, right-click on the file and choose 'Combine' or whatever's on top of the list, it might be bolded.
Step 7 : Agree to it, if you trust yourself or whoever you got said save files from
Step 8 : Start up the game as normal and check if you can load
Bonus Step 9 : Go back to regedit and check if there's suddenly a lot more content in the something unlimited folder. If there is, then well, it's been combined, but it should've been obvious if you could load a save from a save location you had nothing on this computer previously in.
