Nearly month delay is WILD even for them. I get it when they started - not much experience and all that.. But now it 8(!) years of same updates in already existing game. In visual novel for fucks sake)) how can you not learn anything for that long!?
And noone would care if game was shit, but art still good. Even after he bimbofied every girl, they still look pretty! But why cant he hire a competent dev or finally learn how his game works?

I think it's because it's always a pain in the ass to give you project to someone you don't know, and you have to find that said person.

However, let's be honest, you don't have 20 days of delay because of bugs on a visual novel. He's probably either lazing off, or that code is so annoying it's making him procrastinate.

That's always the very frustrating thing, even though it's pretty obvious he's milking is patreons, other games does way worse so you're like "at least updates are consistent"

If they took this extra time and actually finished the Gotham event that'd be reasonable. Not this "narratively complete" bulljive where half the characters aren't done like they did with Themyscira. Delay it but make sure its 100% finished after coming off of the absolute joke of a Halloween update would be a good recoup. But expecting anything more than the girls immediately referenced in the teasers to be finished is a stretch and even then that isn't some gospel promise. Being 3 weeks off because of positioning in a VN would be very on brand for how this year has gone. The only update without any notable baggage this year was the High Society one.

Month delay after they made it 2 month update cycle. Did we at least get double the amount of the content with each update? Nope. But I guess he needs more money.

Bro its not a renpy game, its a unity game. A unity game with bad coding. I don't think anybody wants to compress this mess or that they even can.

If people can make entirely new scenes from existing assets in less than a day and combine it with the guy that remade a big chunk of the game in a code that works I'm betting on the lazing off. He could just put the game on hiatus while he starts from scratch and people would still pay.

im shocked i never noticed this until now but....why is this game almost 13gb???? is there no way to decrease it? im tempted to delete it and play it sometime later because its taking too much space and im not playing it so much nowdays but i dont want to lose allmy progress, how do i keep save file seperate?

This game creates it's save files in the register of your pc, you can delete the game and when you download the next update it will acces your save.

Some pages ago there was a simple insruction for working with SU saves in registry:

1. Type "regedit" in the command prompt to run the REGistry EDITor program.
2. In the regedit menu choose EDIT -> FIND.
3. In the "FIND" window type "Something Unlimited" and wait for program to find that string.
4. Move the mouse to the "Somegay -> Something Unlimited" string. Click right mouse button. Choose "Export".
5. In the new menu type the name of the file in which you want to save the registry key value.
6. Move the "*.reg" file to the new location.
7. Click on it. The registry key will be stored to the computer registry.

I suppose you are baiting but I am bored.

This was actually an amazing game with huge potential, many, many years ago. Sadly it didn't evolve beyond that "potential". I think they actually gave up on the game, some cool mechanics were completely abandoned and now it doesn't compare to many modern visual novels. They just kept adding characters without a lot of care.

The amount of characters put it on a level of its own but that's about it. The writting got repetitive after many updates.

I don't think it's terrible, you know, with a huge difference in scale and money, I would compare this to modern pokemon games. Not bad games, just a shadow of what they could have been with proper investment and good management. You can have a lot of fun with Something Unlimited.

the bigger a project gets, the harder it is to maintain its coherency and quality output.

The scale of project is not the issue. The amount of the money he gets easily outscale the scale of the project. If the only used the money to hire labour, expertize and invest it into the game as he promised. Instead it has become a grift project for his passive income and he does the bare minimum to keep the money flow going, well lately he is not even doing that and his cuck patreons still keep paying him.
