Yes they are purposely "drawing like AI" because that makes more sense than "they moved to an art style you don't like". I'm not saying the new style is better or worse, but it is just like a fact that artists change their styles over time, you can call it being lazy, pandering, or just shifting their look, and its fine to not like said change in style, but calling it AI basically just because you don't like it is both misinformed and reductive of both larger issues in hand.

You want them to change course then properly diagnose the issue, don't just throw blanket statements like "it's AI" when it's provably not. Criticize the things you don't like about the new style with CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM and even if they don't say it out-loud most artists will at least keep it in mind.

I know and I wanted to make this comment here lol. As I said, I know this a thread for pirating a parody porn game, it's not a place intended for "constructive conversation" it's just refreshing to vent. Plus seeing all the people get pissy about my comment is pretty funny, I expected like 1 or 2 children to whine, but the turn out here is amazing lol.

Bro read their disclaimer, since it's a parody of copyrighted characters, them getting paid for the game is illegal. So everything that is into the game should be free for everyone. And their last public build was 2 years ago.

Notice how I used the word DONATE, it's not a hard rule, just a basic courtesy. My ultimate point was that we are getting something for free so being constantly angry at it for not being perfect when it could NOT EXIST AT ALL is a bit silly.

Well since they have a bad habit of communicating I will shed some light here on what was brought to the table. As mentioned in the town hall a few times they wanted AI for the backgrounds much like what Draw with Jazza uses to make a project less stressful for the artist. Conception of 1 main background and 30 copies of referenced perspective is plausible with a lora that will generate random placed copies of beds, walls and stools.

But the limitations with the AI on characters CG are so critically different it's implausible to be used in a efficient manner with how Sunset operates.
The amount of making said content is impractical.
Generating bodies that are more western require a specific model and multiple specific loras to operate.
The images generated to be high quality require the subject to be close to the camera leaving little room for artistic expression, any tags with full body will have a low quality model especially on the hands and face.

Even after generating the base images it requires an artist capable as Sunset to fix the images.

With all these factors my conclusion is if you integrate AI images it will hinder the main production, the solution is to only be used as inspiration and reference or by an artist constant monitoring and fixing the mistakes.

How I would put it as an artist if I was faced with that is.
"So instead of me calling the shots on what scenes there can be in my game, I have to let the computer suggest and give specific instructions every time I want a specific image oh and I need to test all day specific lora combinations to have variations."

There is more time to lose than to gain.

Yep, and me saying they arn't using AI "at least for the CGs" isn't saying the Dev is perfect, and that this project doesn't have some major flaws, it's just saying that AI CGs are not one of those problems. Again their code is a jumbled mess, they suck at communication, can get down right hostal, and have a bad habit of promising more than they can deliver in any given update. But you know unless I act like the game is a scam and Dev is literally satan, I'm a shill lol.

one minor correction, their code isn’t a jumbled mess. Their code doesn’t exist. This thing is built in a gui editor called fungus that generates the code. That’s why fixing anything is so difficult and why it breaks in very weird ways that are hard to debug.

It’s an old version of software that is buggy as shit (fungus) and isn’t supported and the new version of it can’t load this project. That’s why the testing phase is such an unpredictable shit show.

I wish the Android version was published for PC like the stand alone bits all in ren’py because that shit is way easier to debug and would allow for more game elements to be added.

Literally re-using my insults against me and then calls me unoriginal, irony so rich it giving me gout... But saying nobody purposefully "draws like AI" is nonsense, both because anyone can draw a hand with extra fingers (drawing the hand well-proportioned, that's another story; just ask Van Gogh, and that was before he was hittin' the absinthe) and also because AI (well, convolutional neural nets, since AI is some nebulous catchall bullshit) doesn't draw. Prolly the most correct active verb would be "generate."

Well, here is a serious discussion whis one main question: does SR7 use the AI in his work or not? But the truth is that in his new pictures of the girls there is much more similar for the AI pictures then whis the hand-drawn. Seriosly, mostly it`s the AI that draws one picture by another by the same algoritm that leads in very similar pictures, the hand-drawn pictures usially are more independent, IMHO.

There is video of him drawing the “new girls” from sketches. it’s also not true that looking similar is a sign of AI. Consistency is a marker for hand drawn art because AI has no idea what it’s doing it’s just predictive color patterns.

feel free to not like the new art, but it’s not AI, doesn’t look like AI, has no signs of being AI. It’s just curvier than it used to be, probably from drawing nothing but Amazon’s for a year.

It's good but not on the scale of this, and is basically just a less buggy version of Rouge Like with a different art direction. Solid game, but honestly Doomanation is the closet to a Marvel equivalent of this game, also they are much more transparent to the community about development and release updates pretty frequently.

True. I brought it up less for scale but to show there are at least more Marvel games than only Rogue-like: Evolution which was the original statement. I also hadn't realised Doomination was a game when Erebus mentioned it above but hellloooo... I'll be back in... a while.
