Short Update on V1.50

• Version 1.50_14 is in Official Release on Patreon/Substar and running stable
• With inclusion of minor fixes, the public release as V1.50_15 is planned for Dec 14

Whats going on beyond that

• I have been reviewing the Sw-Design and did some major overhauls
• All my SDK, OS, 3D Tools, Renpy have been updated to latest version last week and toolchain confirmed
• Code migration to Renpy 8.3/Python 3.x finished (1.50 was still on 7.8 / 2.x) successfully
• New architecture for potential save game compatibility / content loading introduced
• With this tech overhaul code V2.00 will be released to BETA around Dec/Jan for stability testing (with some new content)
• 2.10 (The Drengar Conspiracy) will be released in Spring 2025 and conclude SJX I
• After that I'll take a break and think about whether to episodically continue using the new architecture or do sth different

Concept of compatibility loads - For the Renpy / python experts who are interested:

• Save/Load anywhere and rollbacks still usable by players within a version
• Safe Zone on top call hierarchy level was introduced for cross-version saving
• Safe Zone is passed every night (allows to save cross_version save game)
• after each game load a callback() hook for cross_version compatibility check (a.k.a safe zone save game) is done
• If cross_version load ok: Reinitializing new content (quests, locations, screen elements, ...)
• Clearing of rollback queue and continue

I can't guarantee this works but first tests look good and it may solve the intractable "call from" labeling issue .
I think this is a good balance between "save anywhere" and "fixed save points" and would allow packages which touch "only" locations, quests, artwork, screen elements to be published save game compatible.

Were you plan on progressing these characters much further? There's a lot of introductory submission and exhibition content, but then it abruptly ends for most of them.
It's nice that the game has some strategy elements, and some collection mechanics, but the main draw is reaching new milestones with the characters. One possibility for continuing the story is to have some of your crew get captured by slavers, and you have the option to buy them back. This would create a reason to play the sexbot side-game.

Dude, just wait for 1.50, its public release is scheduled for mid-December. There's a lot of new content there. If you pledge on Patreon, you can get it instantly.

You have to earn some reputation to get this license, 8 or 10 I believe.
Plus, you have to have the contract on Ghad from Vigo the pirate.

I know this particular game is winding down, since it's technically complete, but one thing that is still missing is an incentive to amass lots of money
the mechanic is there to get really rich, but there's no reason to do so, since you can get everything you need from space battles

I dont want to give half baked suggestions, but there's so many possibilities. Buying (a certain) captured runaway princess from slavers, using these supposedly intelligent sexbots on the ship, upgrading the amenities or rooms of the ship, becoming an actual eccentric pervert captain, instead of just pretending to be one, thus forcing the crew to decide if they want to remain on board, bribing the krell to be far more aggressive with their inspections/requirements, etc.

Well, yes and no. Once you reach the Drengarian system, your money just trickles between your fingers in every trade with The Collector Plus, if you amass half a billion, a trophy pillar becomes active.

I dont want to give half baked suggestions, but there's so many possibilities. Buying (a certain) captured runaway princess from slavers, using these supposedly intelligent sexbots on the ship, upgrading the amenities or rooms of the ship, becoming an actual eccentric pervert captain, instead of just pretending to be one, thus forcing the crew to decide if they want to remain on board, bribing the krell to be far more aggressive with their inspections/requirements, etc.

Most of the suggestions have already been made, either here or on Patreon. Ultimately, however, you have to take into account that yv0751 is essentially a one man crew, and he can only do so much in a given time.

That said, a lot of new content is coming up with 1.50 (available to all Patreon tiers already, public release planned for mid-December), and some more with 2.0 (no date yet).

From my experience Arellarti is the best place, they drop lots of bots there, just do a lot of missions fighting Krell ships. QuThor also drops bots and those bots have a chance to come with elite parts. There's also a trader you can encounter there that can potentially sell elite shells, it's random. Happy hunting.

And here I am, wondering why Nimhe couldn't craft anything except J shells...
I've been playing for 300 days now. No shells yet.

if you want to have nimhe craft other shells, must get them first, rescuing bots from combat loot, then check the bots and remove the shells, if new, can gift it to nimhe so she can study it and later she can make some of those too

They are new, still can't gift them. The shells curently are in the "parts storage" (and only one button there.. should I scrap them?), can't gift them unless they are in my own inventory. She somehow crafts J-shells, that's it. I don't remember giving them to her. Her tech skill is 36 now.

When you talk to her, you see the option botlab voucher in the dialogue. If you click that you will bring up the laboratory inventory.

Mr. yv, I want you to know that your game and I are not on speaking terms at the moment.
We had to take a break mid-playthrough, because I missed out on some facial scenes.
I'm building myself up to forgiving it, but it's going to take time.

I'm not going to tell you how to raise your own game, but maybe give it a stern talking to.
