That is because this was the author or a dlsite subcontractor, is like when ONEONE1 released a few games with a "translator" and they were more like a chinese scam group (worse than MTL)
Not at all surprised. Not the first time it's happened with games like these. Nor will it be the first time shitty translations are the official translations for anything. And remember: A company that decides AI MTL is sufficient for an official release is just one step away from deciding paying for the AI isn't worth it when you can just pipe the script through Google Translate or DeepL. I suspect many of these games only have their opening sales volume paid attention to which isn't going to care whether the translation is good or bad unless they offer refunds.
Pretty much. AI MTL relies heavily on being able to get a lot of context to give an okay translation. But depending on the game engine used and amount of fucks given by the person setting up the translation, it can easily be no better than garbage MTL. And even with AI, you still would benefit from having a human editor that at least has half a clue of the language to catch hiccups like flip-flopping pronouns or inconsistent names.
And not chinesse, don't trust "trasnlators" from there. I am still salty about the earlier ONEONE1 "translations" and there were others too.hopefully he is human
