3 companions are available as soon as you join the adventurers guild (so from day 2 earliest, assuming you end day 1 by joining the guild), more a bit later. However like others have said, you can only use them on certain quests. Sometimes the full party, sometimes only one of them, and most of the time Aura will be solo. Major exception: the summoned slime familiar (learn spell in refugee camp). It has plenty of ways to make it stronger, most prominently you can feed it every 2 days (same mechanic as blacksmith improvement and exp on top, but with no gold cost). You can also learn to switch its element and some skills buffing its stats & abilities. So imo investments should focus on Aura and slime, since it can be summoned for all fights except duels.

There should be a page of tips to advance well in the game, the main advice is always to take advantage of the time, time is a very scarce resource in this game and there will come a time where you will be blocked by corruption, another piece of advice would be not to work in the forge, it is not profitable at all.

also what does the "(promise)" at the end of some dialogue options mean? what is the mechanic behind that?

No, but you should have the first fire spell so you can burn the plants to get in.
Promise means the next day will be reserved for that activity, and Aura will do it automatically. Can be more than one day, for some training.

By completing quests, but you should not care about levels. Most of your power gain comes from training, upgrades and consumable items like mana stones.

RPG Maker MV and MZ give you plenty of options for that:
Right: Arrows for movement, Enter is accept, Insert is cancel/menu, Page Up and Down are page left and right.
Left: WASD for movement, Z is accept, X is cancel/menu, Q and E are page left and right.
Pre-MV the WASD keys may not work, but the others should.
It seems like the real world story progress isn't moving forward at all. From roughly right before the winterfall city onward so far. I just got to the magic entertainment and the Nephlum recruiting but it feels like I have played many missions in Ryoya and progressed lots of story. I finished the fight in the reverse summons but it trully does feel like it has been ages since anything in the real world has happened. Nothing is available in the Lucilia mind side, does the top most crysytal have to be completed before anything more happenes in the real world? Even though the top right room hasnt had any changes at all? I thought the top most crystal was like the final one but shouldn't there still be alot of real world story happening before that? Real world scenes should be triggereing so that the top right room can have changes but it just isn't happening. I only ask because I have dedicated 2 whole days to just progressing through the Ryoya missions. Will include save. Is there a bug or is there a specific Ryoya mission that has to be completed to do more real world scenes? Looking at the cg room it seems like there are plenty more sceens but literaly nothing has happened in real world for ages. Also I hope somone eventually can upload a full 100% cg room save eventually. It is easy to miss or lock out scenes for dumb mistakes and I can only play this game so many times from scratch :3 I like the game alot but my lord it takes ages to actually play through.
If there is anything specific preventing the real worlds scenes moving forward please let me know. Is there a specific Ryoya mission or event that has to happen? The last real world scene I saw was right as Aura started dating Richard but since then nada.
Also small detail, is Lucilia meant to keep the Alicia name in the mind world now? Or was that a mistake that she has it there?

Progression on Earth is not tied to Roya progression.
There is definitely a bug that caused Wanting to be a Model 6 to be skipped.
I can't quite tell why but for now here is a save with the progression variable reduced by 1 so the event will trigger.
How old is your save? I'm not sure if this might be a data corruption bug from the past or a bug that's in the game.
How can I decrease the state of corruption? The church provides only 3 bottles every 12 days. Is there another way to decrease this state?

You can open another church in another city and it gives you more holy water and a spell if I remember correctly, you have to give him 4 drug formulas that are scattered in the world, one is in an event on a certain day in the starting city, I think it was a Wednesday near the cemetery, another one in the sewers of the other city and another one you buy in another city where there is a demon that has them all trapped, you buy it in the store.
I don't remember the other formula, I never did this part because I like my Aura really addicted, apart from some drugs that increase stats like life, speed and magic.
I appreciate it, I had thought certain Ryoya events had to be cleared for some Real World events but maybe that was an older version? I could just be wrong on that. As far as the save age I think it is a bit old from previous version. I did not make backups in my original playthrough ages ago and overwrote them accidentally a ways back. After the game made some more updates to the version, I wanted to see the new content and I just picked up one of the saves from here and worked from there since I was hoping to reach the (at the time) new content faster. Since picking up mid game felt faster than a fresh start. I wish to god somoene would upload a wroking save that has the full gallery. I don't mind playing from the start again just for the game elements but if you think at all about progressing CG it just takes to long. I would rather have the cg and be able to play through casually without the goal of cg. Just due to time constraints, it is hard to dedicate a large amount of time to this game in one sitting. It would be nice to view all the full scenes and just casually replay through the full game outside of that. I think my ideal play through would be a new game pluss after the cg is allready unlocked. Over the development of this game I have played from beggining to about current mid point several times. I think that is what makes it feel tedious to do again now. I wish I had thought about save backups way back when I first found this. I do also want to point out that many of the shared saves here seem to be moded in some way, which can lead to issues like this where something doesn't trigger normaly. So picking up a save here to start close to late game doesn't seem to go well.
I do enjoy the game and love the progress it has made. I look forward to the full release. Playing through multiple times in the future to catch all the scenes may be rough though. I deffinitly want to 100% all the scenes, that is my end goal. I didn't realize until after responding who it was that responded to my issue. I do want to give encouragment and support since this game has come far and been a great success. Not every developer on here actually completes the game and makes it good, so in my mind you have already been doing great. I have only ever interacted directly with one other game creator durring a production but it also has gone very well. I am glad to see a few successful game creations.
Thank you for fixing that issue for me with that variable. I will test out the save you fixed, I hope there arent any other issues but wil deffinitly post here again if anything else in this playthrough gets stuck.^_^

I havent reached any endings yet but I do hope that Aura will eventually get a sexy demon makeover at full corruption like Lucilia has. Not the exact same but similar, I do love her demon design and one of the fun parts of corruption is the full change that ususally happens in the genre. You see it more in magical girl corruptions but this is similar enough and still in the fantasy world. If it doesn't exist, I hope the dev will consider adding an evil transformation for Aura into somewhere eventually. Though I am hoping I will be surprised with one in my current run, I don't know if anything like that is in any of the ending parts.
Literally every single RPGM game plays perfectly fine with enter/insert/arrow keys + r. shift/r. control. Every operation can be done with one hand without the need to drag the mouse all over the table. Not to mention how shit mouse controls are on RPGM MV or whatever the latest engine is called. Never once in more than a decade of playing RPGM games (porn or otherwise) have a thought to myself: "Damn, I wish I could make my life harder for no reason and play with the mouse". Be for real.

I don't even know what that part of the review was on about. Mouse is completely optional in this game, the battle interface has keyboard support as well.
I'm gonna be another one of those guys, but anyone have a full recollection room? I'm tired of having to do the hoopla every update

It's very easy to transfer saves, it's certainly less work than typing out a request for a save and then following all the same steps you'd do to transfer the save. You just copy and paste the save folder you have into the new unzipped folder, or use the external save feature if you're on android.
You wouldn't really get a whole lot out of popping into the scene gallery without context anyway. The Roya Scenes don't contain any of the buildup to the scenes, the open order of the Earth scenes don't allow for organizing the corruption progress in a reasonable way, and anyway, there will often be little differences in scenes depending on choices you have made, so you'd want to see scenes from your own save regardless.
All that said, I'm pretty sure it's Pretentious Goblin that I saw posting a link to saves most recently, so that's your best bet if you're dead set on not turning the difficulty down to story and just steamrolling through the gameplay elements so that you can see how the story plays out in the intended order.
