Is there anything special to do in the volcano? I mean, other than burning your shoes and wasting a bunch of health items?
There's some loot to be had for now but...

14k gold and 1 star metal from the final boss(very hard), phoenix feather(its alright, it just boosts fire spells), 3 pyroplating(nice), tons of harvestable pyromantium, 1 drug formula(bloodshot+ I think), 1 blessed water...

Only one type of enemy gives gold and it's deeper in the volcano.

Generally this will be the last dungeon you complete, it was in my runs at least.

I would describe Mount Firestorm as late midgame or early lategame. Obviously Richard's domain is the real final dungeon, but aside from that the last would either be Clockwork Forest or the Pride domain. The Crystal Caverns also maybe qualifies, although it's comparatively easier. I'd also say the Maid Academy Catacombs are more difficult than Mount Firestorm.

The best thing about phoenix feather is the permanent fire resistance it gives you or the slime.

is that actually useful in of itself? I just use it to counter the weakness you get from Ethereal Hide, to remove thunder weakness on Aura

If you are going to get through the last volcano region past the phoenix you ideally do it in one go, so you need to he well prepared. Where as you can grind through all other regions day by day

I do Clockwork Forest (and Judgment of Pride) in one day anyway, because I also want my Liquefy Weapon Coating for most of the enemies in both of those. Maid Academy Catacombs is the one I'd describe as more grinding, because killing those enemies can be HP and/or MP intensive.

Waiting until you can take out Dragon Firestorm properly is a choice you can make, I guess. Or you can just SK him.

you can skip most enemies in the catacombs with Shadowcloak 2, ending up fighting only the 4 in the final floor

the rest you fight when the fragments are gone and the fog is gone

artificer is kinda easy but there is a bug for me where my security cant go beyond 100. i read the book but it is bugged. i morph slime fire. liquid coating. water skin. heat 2 auto. slime use mdef rune. hack the summoned bot and def. keep piercing life support.

So, Im in the underground of Nephlune, again. After working in the pub for long enough to rise my trust level over 200, taken care to findthe location and all the necessary to find the abducted peoples, and of course, while I was rising my trust level, I went to the drug dealer and got the "If it's free, why not take it" perversion. That mean each time Aura fall in withdrawal, she hurry to get screwed there. Now, I took "The lord phantoms" quest and while I was at it, I went berserker in the underground part where the worshippers are, or rather were, and killed The Hand too. But I see there are two other of them looking like colored pixies, not just the dark figure ones looking like ghosts. One is a prostitute I paid her to fuck with a worshipper, the other is the drug dealer. I didn't kill them, yet, taking a second thought because maybe they are of use for later on. Mostly about the drug dealer I wonder what will happen when Aura fall in withdrawal next time, if I kill him. Apart to fuck her one time a week, the guy can't even sell products resulting from the formulae that I keep selling him. So the question is: Kill him or not kill him?
