One thing troubles me, however, and it's quite inconsistent with Aura's reactions in far less alarming situations.
During two of her quests, Aura finds fragments that, once complete, form two crystals: the "Chronicles Recording Crystal," found during the quest "Journey of a Hero," and the "Log Recording Crystal," found during the sub-quest "Artificer Log" within the quest "Clockwork Forest."
The information they contain is quite disconcerting, as it seems to be related to the heroines who preceded Aura, and the artificer even mentions that they were all women whose summoning ritual inevitably sent them to their deaths "slaughter".
From the player's perspective (mine), I know something is amiss since we learn from the beginning that the goddess is corrupted.
What bothers me is that Aura doesn't react to this information at all, not even a second thought about the cycle that seems to have been repeating itself for thousands of years.
Now, I put myself in the shoes of this heroine and listen to this information and...
"Whoawhoawhoa!!! Wait wait wait... Put on the brakes and go back, there! What the hell is this mess?
What about those previous heroes who slayed previous demon kings? Are all these stories just lies?"
I mean, this information seems crucial to what she thought was just a struggle between good and evil. You could even say it changes everything. She knew the fight was rigged from the start and her nemesis playing dirty, but not to the point where her fate is already sealed. And here she is, not even a shrug???
It reminds me of a scene from a movie.
Ripley to Bishop: "So let's recap: We know these bastards come from eggs, that they attach themselves to human faces to lay an embryo in their stomach. This embryo grows inside and comes out by tearing open the torax of its host. But then... Where do the eggs come from?"
