Hi !

Just a hotfix after the release of the Public Demo 2.0. We fixed the most important bugs that were reported:

  • Fixed Rask's miniboss room's door closing after beating it, saving and reloading.
  • Fixed an issue where loading a save file from a previous version would render the Preferences menu inoperable, and prevent any interactions. (It is still not recommended to load a save file from an old version.)
  • Fixed some broken tiles in Zennia Alt 1
  • Removed some testing powerups that were counted into game progression.
  • Added a puddle sprite and animation as decor in Brazza
  • Fixed a hole right before a door in Brazza 4, after Rask's miniboss.
  • Adjusted the PunchShrimp roll SFX playing distance.
  • Adjusted the player's min jump height back down to allow short hops.
KNOWN ISSUES:

  • Going back to the Arena right before the backdash room after completing it, saving and reloading, will keep the sliding doors closed and get the player stuck. (This requires some rewriting that would have prevented this hotfix from being published today. Will fix next update.)

this also happens to this door that was supposed to open a shortcut to a new area that i unlocked west of the initial meteo area. I'll have to backtrack all the way back to Brazza to go to that area again ToT

Suggestion, perhaps at least until the full game is out, could there possibly be a way to allow us to fast travel between save points to save on travel time if funny business happens?

so just reports some bugs.
>at the are where you get the armor that allow you to dive in lava and acid, most of the jumps under lava and acid are not working correctly: close on that area there is heart container that you need go dive in acid and shrink in order to take it, but then you cant go back because you cant jump over the ledge on the return path even though the jump is in right high. Same think to another path that you have to go under the lava, you are suppose to jump on a ldge but the jump doesnt make even though its clearly a possible jump.
>there is a mini boss on braza that he enters the room by smashing the right wall. I cant pass the smash wall even though the tiles show the place where the boss pass through and the map shows a door at the rifth side of the room, is this normal?

Going to join strange crashing problem club (on my end, it plays disclaimer, then crashes). Previous version of StarSpawn demo worked normally. Updating drivers haven't helped and I think Vulkan is probably not supported by my video card (or maybe it does, but then I get normal crash instead when trying to force it).

Thanks for the report ! The second issue you mentioned has been fixed on Demo2.0h1 on Itch. I'll check for your first issue :eek:

That's weird. If you can, I'd appreciate if you can upload the Player.log file found under AppData/LocalLow/StickyKeys/StarSpawn.

A short thank you for the work, I enjoyed the gameplay a lot, I love the animations also and hope for way more for the future as it's top-tier.
I appreciate your transparency about the game development, the sharing and everything, and because of everything I've started to support you :giggle:

I would also like to pinpoint what's probably a bug. In the big room full of lava, if you fall into the lava, you can't escape. I mean not because of the lava killing you, but you can't reach any platform to pull out, and you're kinda softlocked, especially once you get the shield. Why I think it's a bug more than a level design on purpose is that on the right side of this room, I'm pretty sure there is a platform on which you can land to espace the lava in 2 steps... but there is an invisible wall that block the way. As all the other platforms are too high, you're basically stuck until you reload the game. I fall a 1st time without the shield, enjoying my 1st death. Then a second time after getting the shield, on my way to save hehehe. Kinda frustrating to be here, stuck forever without getting killed :D

Beat the demo with 100% but found is some bugs. First the lava and acid platforms the reason it didnt work before its because i was trying without the underwater movement powerup (and yet because you failed the by sucj a magicl pixel i believe it was a bug).

Then there is a problem with the room where you get a heart piece in the first area. the one that you have to activate 3 red switchs in order to get it in theverison 2.0h1 (i swear that i already had got it on the version 2.0 but it kept showing a heat piece missing and it was that one) the thing is once you get the heart piece you cant leave the room. I shoot the door and pass through it but it doesnt take me out of the room so you get soft lock.

What bring me to the next bug. so i went back to that room the version 2.0 since the save files are compative, got the hear piece left, saved the game and went back to version 2.0h1 with the now eith the game in 100%, but when i loaded the saved game, the map still indicated that the heart piece on the switches room was still missing (despise my health being with all the full tanks) so i went back to that room and there was the hear tpiece again and when i got it, it actually expended my heath to one extra empty node.
