People complaining about a lack of Female MC need to understand something, art takes a lot of time to make. I know you might be used to people like NLT who have render farms and are able to push out 100's of renders a week, but this is all hand made and takes a lot more time to do. Adding a whole separate gender would increase the workload significantly.

As much as I welcome (and want) a good lewd stardew game, this is not vibing with me for some reason...

The feeling I get is of yet-another-generic cartoonish renpy fuckaton, which actually does a disservice to the source material. I'll elaborate:

• Only male protag. Female MC is in SV and it is famous for allowing any female/male MC to date any of the bachelors/bachelorette.
• Bad writting. Anyone knows that when you get past the initial cute aesthetic of SV, there's a lot of good characterization and subtext plots (some even mature/dark) to each villager and overall story. But if the current writing is any indication, we'll get only a simple base level fuck fest.
• Generic art and no animations. The art is actually not half bad and it could be even excused if not for the 2 points above. But as it is if you want your game to set itself apart from the competition, then some animations are the least the dev can do.

Now maybe, just maybe, as this is a v0.1 it might be a bit harsh to judge the dev just yet, yes I'm aware of that, and it might improve in the future. Giving the benefit of the doubt and all that...

But I dunno, stardew valley holds a special place in my heart and I hope you understand that seeing the first adult game based on it being so... "meh"? I would prefer a good immersive plot and sensible writing, things that would make it set itself apart, but I guess we might just get another generic fuck-fest, only with a sv clothing. If that's gonna be the case, I'll pass thanks.

It takes quite a while if you want to make something as complex as Stardew Valley from scratch. This involves a lot of coding which the dev probably wants to spend to create storylines and images. And while it would be nice to add customization, keep in mind that for every possibility the dev wants to add, he needs to put in more work. So yes, it would be nice to create a character to your own liking, but this means that for every possibility the artists needs to draw one scene multiple times. Not only does this take a lot of time, but it can also be tedious.

Drawing art of this quality takes hours, imagine needing to redraw the same scene 10 times.

P.S.: getting a farming system to work in RPGMaker seems to be a big challenge

True.
A 'small' 9x12 field is already over 100 events for a single map. RPGM tends to choke and die around this point.
There would be other means, but they'd require another approach.

You might want to check out:
- Black Garden. (read the OP, since setting is... special) Progression and rythm is very HM-like
- Pokkaloh - focuses more on gathering. Quite old and old-fashioned
and...
- any Rune Factory. Grab a nintendo emulator, you'll love them! (and watch hentai on the side, if needed )

As a dev, I wonder if you'd make a far better experience and reach a bigger audience by putting the same effort into making a really good lewd mod.

Stardew Valley already has a few, but I recall them as superficial (compared to a fully fledged porn game) and more about the lolz of "being naughty" than something you'd actually spank the monkey to. If you instead introduced multi-page scenes of great writing and professional art, and fully integrated it with the rest of the of the game's writing, you'd have an immersive experience that feels real.

If we're talking about a hypothetical entirely new game then yeah I can imagine that it would be a lot of work to make a good "harvest moon but with sex". It's a pipe dream for sure, but one that I hope some hero dev will one day pull off. But if you're talking about this game here... then my points still stand, since the dev clearly isn't trying to make "something as complex as SV", so we judge it solely on it's hooks (since it's just a basic renpy VN) those being the writing and the scenes.

That's why I said I wasn't vibing with this demo, because the writing is clearly amateurish and the grammar is broken... and while the images are of at least decent quality they are uninspiring. So the two core things that would sell this game aren't really that great on their own is what I said.

As for a female MC, sure they would have to redraw parts of the scenes but in return having a fem mc would attract more supporters (like myself) who like/prefer to play as fem mc. I think that tradeoff is worth the "tedium" or redrawing, and if the artist is smart about it they could design the scene in such a way that redrawing the female versions would be easier.

Again it may be too early to judge, and to some people this level of quality might be good enough... but for me those early signs aren't giving me any hope.

This is a PARODY game not a Stardew Valley 2 or wannabe. The real one took lot of years and almost was canceled so... you will never see a porn game like that.
I almost am sure that will never will be a SV 2, so if you want a porn version the best this is some type of mod an pics.
I trully belive this... and love SV, Rune Factory and a little less History of Seasons.

Well, that's the thing. I'm not gonna say you're wrong; if anything, I'm jealous I can't think like that.

But I disagree. A parody of a franchise you hold dear, has higher standards/expectations than the average, original H-game.
To remain positive, a few good examples:
- that old pokemon parody, ポケットギャルハンター. It had a lot of work behind it, and good animations.
- to some extent, Con-quest might also qualify (and was wacky enough not to be, just an easy, no-imagination attempt to leech off a franchise)
- that recent Overlord VN. It has good writing behind it, and coherent storylines, last time I checked. You couldn't say that they butcher the original (which is rather unimaginative, to begin with)

But if you provide a low-quality rip-off... You're a leech, and a disrespectful one at that. (edit: 100% non-profit fanworks are of course excluded)
I haven't tried this game, and I won't (unless very positive comments). So I can't say for sure which category this belongs to... And I kinda don't want to know

I love SV and hope to see a good game but make a porn game from a RPG sandbox will be allways diferent. I was sad when they shut down the Fire Emblem game and i know that was something like this.
You have maybe 3 or 4 really good parody H-games the rest are the same.

FYI, Degica Shop is having a massive sale this weekend. Celianna's rural farm resource pack is being sold for $5 instead of $50, and it includes a farming system and male/female character generator. So, there's that as a resource, if anyone wanted to make proper Adult Farm Life game. Sale ends Monday.

At five bucks, I went ahead and picked it up. I'll let you know how it goes. I can't draw, so I can't really make anything "adult," but I've been wanting to make my own Rune Factory for forever. I'm pretty stoked, yo.

EDIT: This resource pack comes with everything YOU need to create a farming game, including (graphics for) watered and unwatered crops at various growth stages for a wide variety of crops and trees! So, yeah, it provides you with systems for changing seasons, time of day, using tools on events in a way that works reasonably well, and all the graphics you could want for all of that, but what it does NOT include is an actual system for making the crops grow over time. That, you have to figure out for yourself. Meh, I can play with it for five bucks.
