    v 9.2
A pretty terrible game in my opinion.

It's a bit too heavy on the text. I'm guessing they are using more dialogue and etc in order to make up for the god-awful visuals, it doesnt.

Then there's some weird ass pronun thing in the game that is more confusing than it has to be.

The male personnel on the ship looks more like male strippers or something with their vest uniforms. which is pretty offputting

its a bummer you cant play as a white guy.

The females are pretty ok looking i guess. But that doesnt make the game any less terrible.

However this game gets 2 stars for the good grammar and spelling.

This visual novel is for the discerning reader. The amount of effort put in to the world building and diverging narrative paths puts some AAA games to shame. Not only does the narrative introduce you to a whole new galaxy of alien cultures to explore, but also each individual character is developed enough to have their own motivations and problems. The scale is not one I have seen before from an adult VN.

The story is told competently and succinctly. My minor gripes with the storytelling are:
    - Jargon such as alien pronouns ('zer') confused me at first.
    - I felt that too many new characters were introduced too quickly. I was particularly confused when a character was referenced as if that MC had met that character before, though I don't think the MC had met them (may be a bug).

Overall, I was impressed with the VN and highly recommend it to others who are searching for more than spank material.

Very intriguing story and sexy characters. Heavy Mass Effect inspiration but quickly settles into its own identity. Updates take time but they are worth it. I am definitely looking forward to seeing how it develops as time goes on.

    Review of v8.6...

    3.5 stars...

I initially found this game a long time ago when there were only two chapters. I had forgotten about it for a while until I found it and downloaded the latest version.

The story is okay. I like the space sci-fi setting. Although the pacing can be a bit wild at times. The writer clearly has the lore thought out and wants to world build. The issue is they hit you with all of the information and terminology at once. It makes it difficult to keep it all straight at times.

The writing could be better. There are spelling and grammar errors peppered throughout. There are no real choices in the game. The only choices you get are who you want to visit on downtime and none of it affects the story at all.

The graphics are okay. I had no issue with any of the character models. Although I don't think the visual stills flow well with the story. Often you'll be sitting on a still of something from that happened while the story text has moved on to a different scene. There really should have been more visuals added for better flow.

My biggest issue is with how the character Rin is portrayed. Rin is a female character from an alien species who is treated as a third gender because she also has a dick. Which is fine, but when reading the writer uses words like "ze" for her pronouns. If you really need to use pronouns for a third gender then use they/them. Not some bullshit made up word that breaks the sentence structure.

I enjoyed the story overall. I'm not really going to recommend it because I know some people won't like it, but I wouldn't deter people from it either. I'm glad I played it overall and hope it get's finished.

Star Trek spiced, sci-fi themed visual novel with generic 'click to see next slide or line of text' "gameplay" (a.k.a. powerpoint presentation). Story in mainly boring or text based and art is not good enough to keep you interested. Visuals feel very outdated and homemade with sex scenes composed of just 2 or 3 sprites. There is no real story driver, no interesting motive for action and no character development. You play as the commander of the space ship, but you barely do anything, as shit happens and you just watch it happen. Just floating around in space with dozens of different alien characters introduced in a very confusing way - they all have multiple names and titles, have different upbringings and cultures. All of those names and terms thrown at you, with tons of jargon, makes everything hard to follow (purple skinned female alien named Zin, of Rin spiecies from planet Gin acting as a second grade security officer etc and it turns out she also has a penis.) You even have your own sex-slave in your quarters but you'll only get a single scene when she's introduced into story and then won't be seen again because you won't return to your quarters again. There is no free-roam mode that would fit here. You basically skip through different boring conversations until you'll see "next chapter" logo. And in next chapter you will meet another 5 different alien species with whom you can talk to. From time to time, you're even being presented with a single "choice" option (like "do this") which you must click on. So, bad writing and a bad design. Really boring, text based novel with outdated visuals and one vanilla sex scene per chapter.

Played through v8.6 & really enjoyed this game.
The story is good, the characters are interesting and choices actually do matter.
I got an entirely different mission to end pt.8, depending on the choice made previously. Very interested to see how this develops further and seeing where the journey from each side of the conflict takes us.
No grind, beautiful girls, engaging story & MC is well written, too.
All in all, very happy to have found this and can't wait to see the story(ies) develop further!
    Great work.

The variety of different kinks available and the story are quite nice, but the models are still very very simple. Needs a great amount of improvement on the art. It shows promise, but it's still not at a stage to be considered good.

    [Review mad as of v8.5.7]

Great, captivating story. Nice world-building, and VERY NICE renders (especially the later chapters; the first chapter [and also the second IIRC] is not that good. Not bad, but later chapters do shine.)

Quite a lot of fappable scenes. But seriously: PLAY THIS FOR THE STORY.

    Looking forward to the continuation!

Provisional Rating: 5/5 Stars. Hopefully it won't degrade in future updates...

The story pulls me in with the deep space adventure that can give you Star Trek vibes if you let it and the art and design makes me stay interested throughout with it's different body types and locations, also shout out to the Black character lead!!!

    Played until chapter 6

I was tricked into downloading this from the good reviews. I really have no other praise to give this game than to say that the renders are decent. The rest, not so much.

I normally am definitely a sci-fi guy and so this game seemed like a natural fit. I was wrong. Bad writing is bad writing, no matter the genre.

What mainly makes me give this game a 2 is that the storytelling is god awful. I can't stand flashbacks as a vehicle for character introductions and this game does this multiple times.
It also annoys me to no end that once we get to know a new character a little and get thrown into an interesting scenario then -POOF- it's all gone and the story takes a sideways leap to something completely different. It's like it's got the attention span of a 5 year old. The groundwork for a good story is there, but it isn't moving forward. It's only sideways steps and new characters once you start to think that this is going somewhere.

There is no real story driver, no interesting motive for action and no character development. We're just floating around in space and stuff happens to us. And it seldom makes sense. I guess the "rebels vs evil empire" is a nice starting point for a story but from the introductions onward it goes nowhere fast. Just dialogue, dialogue and more dialogue. Then maybe a sex scene sprinkled in that really doesn't make much sense from a story perspective. Oh and then some more dialogue! Because why not?

Oh and did I mention there was a lot of dialoge? That's the understatement of the year. The author seems to lack a filter and just adds infinite amounts of dialogue fluff which can't be interesting to anyone in conversations. What could easily be summarized as "they spent a few hours talking about real boring shit" instead has to be clicked through repeatedly and comprises a large majority of the game. And the visual presentation is always the same: Show picture of character A with blank face and add text below. Then show picture of character B with blank face and add text to it. Then back to A with blank face again. Then repeat. I swear to god, the same god damned expressionless render of the same fucking character appears a thousand times.

Can't say I recommend this game to anyone. The others ranking this game a 5 have obviously not played any of the actual good games here on f95.

    akenedy

An interesting space opera ala low budget mass effect with porn elements, but thankfully story takes the priority and the sex content is mostly placed logically or completely optional.

The visuals are for what it is good, the characters are numerous and while their introduction could have been better implemented (same goes for world-building and setting) it's decent and you get to know them more in-depth while you play further and spend time with companions you are interested in when given choice although a more deeply written backstories would have been great.

The story for me was intriguing enough and has minor and big story branches and dialogue options to replay as both genders which do actually change the dialogue and characters' interactions in the game especially since some characters have gender-specific interests.

Overall it's a very decent story-driven game if you take it for what it is and also would've liked to see the intimate relationship sip into the main plot and dialogue, if just for the reactions of other characters.

I'll start this off by saying I played until Chapter 5 and that there was a lot to like in this game. I liked the artstyle, the whole sci-fi theme, the diversity in the cast with different alien species, the attempt at world-building (which I'll get to later), and the music. But I feel that the things I liked about this game also created problems that made me give up after Chapter 5.

The game takes place in outer space with different alien species that are all unique and have different upbringings and cultures, but they were always introduced in a very confusing way. Names and terms were constantly thrown at me with no explanation, which made everything hard to follow. There are so many characters and they all have multiple names and titles that it was difficult to remember who was who. I was finally able to confidently put a name to a face for everyone by around chapter 5 (when I gave up).

As briefly mentioned before, this game makes an attempt at world-building. I say attempts because the confusing nature of the whole thing made it hard to follow as well. This game is all about walls of text from characters explaining things about themselves and what's going on in the world, which made it hard to retain any information. This also made it difficult to like any of these characters because if I want to care about a character, I have to care about what they say, and it's hard to care about something when it's so confusing and delivered to you so blandly.

On top of all of this, there isn't much in terms of choices and consequences in this game. You are the commander of the ship, but you barely do anything, as shit happens and you just watch it happen. Also, there were very few sex scenes in those 5 chapters I played. I actually felt like there didn't need to be any sex at all because the story would've moved on just fine without it. It's like the devs tacked it on because this is supposed to be an "adult game." Plus, this game caught my eye because of the tags but I barely got to see any of the kinks play out.

All in all, there are some good things in Starship Inanna, but the bad outweighed the good for me and I was left disappointed, which is why I gave up pretty early on. I feel that if the plot and worldbuilding was delivered at a better pace, the game would be much more enjoyable.

    Lillen B.

Sleeper RPG of the century. Mass Effect Andromeda wanted to be this game.

It's been around long enough that there's roughly 10 hours of content depending on how fast you wanna take it. Long enough that you get to know and care about each of the characters in one way or another. The characters, races and setting have obviously been lovingly crafted, making it often times fairly difficult to choose which waifu reigns surpeme. And on the element of choice.. Most ren'py games have a handful of choices, with either little to no consequence, or with extremely predictable results. This is a game that is deep enough I didn't even realize it was possible to romance certain characters. Small (and large) changes to scenes based on the order in which you do things, mutually exclusive routes. It's not perfect, but this is the best CYOA style game I've played in a long time.

Also, I gotta give props for the fact that basicly everyone somehow seems to have their ass in frame constantly. It's almost hilariously unnecessary at times, but it's tasteful enough that it doesn't feel out of place or detract from the narrative.

Very interesting game that is certainly unique. It has a full lore, it is bigger than most projects on this site.

The characters are all fleshed out, there is a large story to take part in, there is just so much to this game.

I am extremely curious to see where this game will end up towards the end of its development. Definitely worth a try if you don't mind reading a lot of story. The renders are really well done too!

    [v.8.4]

I dont understand why this game has so less attention. Im writing this review to give it a push. May it help others to find this (faster than me).

    Pro:
    - Every episode reminds me of episode of Star Trek. Its engaging, there's a problem, it will be solved +something happens for the meta plot. Great!
    - I like the diversity and writing of the characters. There are aliens who may be different from the human design, but if you dont want to engage a sex scene with them, you dont have to. Every sex-scene seems optional in this game. And that's great in my opinion. You want Futa? You get Futa. You are more into "boring straight sex scenes" like i am? You get that. You want both? Then do it. It's your story and...
    - ...Your choices really matter.
    - The sex scenes are great, even tho some of them are pretty short and ended with two clicks. And they are not animated, but hey, everything in this game immersed me that much, that there wasnt any animation needed.

    Neutral:
    - If you are in for a quick wank better watch a porn parody. The story lets you read quite a lot for a game of this genre. I even had some problems with understanding everything of its politcal faction names, unknown alien race names and stuff. But I wouldnt want it to be different. That's a unknown space where we're in. Deal with it.

You feel the love and effort the devs put into this game. Give it a try. That's one of the better ones, trust me. Devs: Thanks btw. Stay awesome.

    Edit: Edited version number.

Hideous visuals. takes the "uncanny valley" to a whole different level.

The story is nonsensical and very self-important.

Still, rating the game 1 star seems unfair, as the maker(s) of the game clearly put much effort into it.

It's actually one of the first couple of adult games I played, and after my trying a number of adult games, this game is still one of a few that I truly enjoyed.
I like Starship Inanna. Its main theme is a serious, real Sci-Fi with an absorbing story and nice character development. Most importantly, it's a choice-based VN with two completely different main branches of story (diverted in Ep5) and a lot of branches related to relationship and sex. You can choose your protagonist's sex, and the dev created TWO WHOLE SETS OF SEX SCENES for male and female. Not to mention the amount of work for two entirely different main storylines for a two-man team. It's unbelievable and respectful.
The sex in this game does NOT involve dignity domination/humiliation. There are NO naive and shy little girls or ridiculous sluts in this game. In my opinions this is an adult game for mature adults (compared to some "adult fairytales for kids" in this site), as every girl in this game is mature and independent, capable of taking care of herself. And REAL. Sex in this game is like "After a tiring day of work, I wouldn't mind doing some relaxing activities with you. What do you think?" and the relationship is being built gradually in the process. It does not emphasize romance, yet more romantic than most games in this site.
I don't know about others, but to me erotic content in any type of media should serve as dessert instead of main course for its own sake of being arousing and enjoyable. In those games where the entire story revolves around sexual desires, after the sense of novelty at first, I just don't feel a thing about the same cliches different games keep using anymore. I can't help questioning myself, why don't I just watch porn instead? Some of the animated porns certainly have better animation quality than almost any game in this site. It's all story that matters most, and a story fully centered on sexual desires is very unlikely a good story. And this game tells me that centering on romance is not the only option for a good story with adult content.
Don't play this game if all you want is fap. Play this game if you want to enjoy a Sci-Fi visual novel, and, with some fapping along the way perhaps. You'll enjoy it.

Love the story line and the characters. I feel like it is one of the most original stories that I have run into, really like that the sci-fi aspect is so well written and already has two potentially drastically different story branches. Looking forward to future updates.

    I'm a girl
Usual time, I don’t play game with male protagonist only. This one had a female protagonist option. So I test it…

But clearly, it’s just a switch.

There’s a very little few male NPC. Even the "servant" can only be a girl while you can choose

The sex scene are only lesbian or if you managed to have sex with a man, it’s for use a dildo belt on him and never his own penis !

Even when you walk naked with your crew, the male sex are allways hide by a decorative feature…
