Nope, it just refuses to launch and/or give me an error transcript. This happened to me before, and I was able to fix it by changing the rendering options (which I I did by holding shift after launching the game, image below) but I can't seem to be able to do it with this game.

I enjoyed P4 gaiden, incomplete as it was. Expecting same level of quality here but I hope the golden goose doesn't spread themselves too thin with too many projects.

I've never ran to that issue but can you try installing and extracting the game into your Program File (x86)? I don't know your computer specs but it might be because of that.
Alternatively, you could try downloading Blue stacks emulator (android emulator) then getting the game's apk file and launching it from there.

I found what the issue was. Using ; in the file path prevents the game from launching. Usually I copy and paste the name of the thread as my directory file. Removing ; From Steins;Gate solved the issue.

Is the original Steins Gate worth it as a visual novel? I never played it but it always peaked my curiosity.

if you're into time travel and sci fi stories i definitely think it's a worthwhile game to pick up
