I love the game. Have loved it since its first form before the rebuild. Hope the rebuild is completed and we get back to more new BBC bimbo content that the game was known for originally.

First this game is a WIP.

Origins;

The original game was called "Stepmother Re-Program", I was not the one that started it. At that time there was 3 fully linear(no shared passage) stories, none of them were complete. The game was abandon for over a year. Since I saw the potential, I decided to take over with the permission of the original author. That said, English was not his first language, and it showed in the text. Therefore first thing I did, is to rewrite everything (that was an ongoing thing for several months). My main focus was the story (and still is), so I completed all 3 stories and added a new one from scratch. Also, there was a lot of negative feedback, that I addressed one by one. Sound/music on videos was removed. Some didn't like the BBC, so I made it optional (yes, it's still there for the ones that said the opposite). Many bugs/typos were fixed. There was no clothes system, so I implemented one from scratch, etc. I reached a point that I hit a wall on what I could do with that linear engine (I was one year in)....

So I started V2, the same stories, but with a new game system that I built from scratch; I combine all common passages (sleep, each rooms, stores, etc.). Then I added a time and a money system. Implemented a sleep/dream mechanic, etc.
This was a major rework of the game, and took several months just to get the base done with only one of the story to be functional. Then I added the other stories one by one until all of them were on V2.0.4. That was only the beginning, as many more features were added, and bugs fixed, the new engine was continually updated. That is when I decide to add a 5th story. When completed, I released the game with a new name "Stepmother Effect". One of the main reason for that was the confusion with V1, so I wanted to distance myself with it. A lot more optimization was done on the stories and game.

That is when I decided to integrate an other popular abandon game (Femboy), so in preparation for it, I integrated some of the location like club, dark alley and therapist office, and created a 6th story around it. More of Femboy will be integrated in SME, while continuing on making the game less linear, with each update, the game is improving in that regard... So far, the game as 6 complete stories with 20 different endings. Despite this, the game is far from finished, I listen to all feedback, and make continual changed to the game. Keep in mind, that this is a one man operation, and some changes takes time to implements.(Currently consider the game somewhere in between linear to non-linear).

Now you understand why the game feels so linear in a sandbox engine, that's because so far I focus on creating that engine (V2), while keeping the original story (linear). That said, my plan is to focus more on the stories to make them less linear, while keeping the essence of them (easier said then done). I will continue to improve the game, eventually all the stories, will form one big one, fully non linear. So please consider this a WIP. If you have constructive criticism, I will be happy to hear them, and I will use this to improve the game. Thank you.

Since you say there are 20 endings I seem to have 7 yet to find. I found 13 endings stemming from this decision point. I guess I need to play through again looking for another branch. Even though this is missing 7 endings it may help someone else playing the game. I got all of them and posted the guide for all 20 in post #110.

I can tell you that SAM (open Email) as 5 endings, and you found only one.

Yes. I have already found three more through SAM.

  • Live With SAM Ending
  • Sissy World Ending
I'll Keep at it. Thanks. I like games, or rather VNs, with many paths and options. This is a good one.

So I played a few routes. The first thing that sticks out to me is the opening could use a little more fluff. Your stepmom finding you watching porn leading to what it does just doesn't feel very natural. I think just adding a few lines of dialog to establish that the MCs addiction to porn has caused her a lot of grief. Maybe make it clear he's been caught many times. Otherwise it's a bit weird she would lock a 19 year old out with parental controls lol, yeah it's her house but still.

A small thing but it's a little tedious to have to put on the same outfit everyday, it would be nice if whatever clothes you wore the day before, you default clothes, were automatically put on you in the mornings.

Adding more fluff text to certain activities and maybe adding random events around them would be a nice way to make it more interesting to explore the different parts of the game like the town. Even small things like adding a few bathroom scenes to showering like having the MC note changes in his body or walking in on your stepmom or her walking in on you. The house in general just feels a bit empty at the moment with the kitchen and tv feeling pointless.

I know it's a big ask but would be cool to see an afterstory type of game play added eventually. You can blaze through a route pretty quickly so would be nice to let you continue on and experience life a bit more depending on how your story went, Like if you end up with the brothel end, having a little story about working there. Even maybe having a revenge arc for some of the routes would be fun in the afterstory.

That's all I got for now, only played a little. I like what you're doing and I'll check back in after some more updates come in. Good luck with the game.

I can't say you're wrong to an extent you definitely can read my comment as whining but you miss how it can be harmful even if it doesn't break the rules. Comments like yours or others can be discouraging to some creators. Imagine spending your free time to create something you hope people will like and the first thing you see is people complaining that they want something else. It's beyond not useful, it's unnecessarily rude. I would love to see mods more actively clean up threads.

The only time you can interact with her is at the club, more may come later. Keep in mind that character came from Femboy, and the story was never finished (abandon). For now I concentrate to implement content as is, the story will come after.

The reason I ask is that the change log states new content with her?

If you are refering to "Added red door in the club (Unlocks after meeting Emy).", it just mean that you open a new area of the club after meeting Emy.

No, but after re-reading the notes it cleared up. Kinda sad that this is all we get from her.
