Did you also already manually delete the saves folder from %appdata%/RenPy (or a similar location on a non-Windows system)? If not, you should be able to reinstall with the new release and then just continue on.
Android user, I hope i can pick up where I left off!! It won't be a bad thing to play the game over again either!! Win, win!!
