Over the time watching this thread I've come to the conclusion that we might have the same tastes you might've just talked me into trying koikatsu games

The Neverwhere Tales chapter 3 is out!

Gotta say from a story-first perspective this game maybe spends a little too much time on dating women. This didn't really bother me, when I played the first two updates, but now that the main plot has some urgency I'm not so sure about structuring the story in a series of dates with unlocked LIs. It's a similar problem like CoBD has, only not as extreme (, yet).
All the major choices are still about the Kaija relationship and it's getting a little awkward. Honestly, the whole update was a weird perspective on relationships. Like going on a date with a hot woman, but only as friends though (sure bro). Or Kaija and the PC not sharing a room, because they "wouldn't get any sleep", even though they lived together in the same apartment sharing the same bed for years.

I think it would help, if not every single MC was a woman/LI.

I haven't played the update yet, but I agree with this on a more general level.

It's like, the moment you make a character an LI, nothing interesting can ever happen to them beyond romance. They can't be hurt or damaged in any way, they can't betray you, and in fact, they can't go against your wishes at all, lest the illusion shatters. Add to that the community's fear of "missing content", you end up with nonsensical scenes where LIs act like pointless caricatures.

And sure, I get why devs treat their LIs with kiddie gloves. Fair enough. But at least balance that with plenty of plot-relevant non-LI characters so your game can still make sense.

I have pretty broad tastes to be fair. As long you aren't put off by the art style and anime/manga tropes, there are some fairly interesting Koikatsu games. I haven't been wow-ed by any of them, but they have a way to draw you in anyway.

It could be a good corruption game, but not necessarily a story-first game. You should be aware that this is jufot's story-first list, and not everyone has the same definition of what constitutes "story-first." Everyone is welcome to discuss what they think, though.

It can be compatible with good history and good corruption.
But we are on a page erotic games... the story would serve to stimulate eroticism.

Corruption would not necessarily be covered with tattoos and obscenely dressed for public display.
That's why I said that I'm looking for a more original corruption, that is, different, I don't know how to explain.

I personally feel that good description in a scene is a positive thing, but it doesn't constitute a story. For a story you need a plot that is interesting in its own right, separate from any individual scene.
