(she may look a bit like a loli but that appearance is quickly overshadowed by her personality and history)
I was enjoying the story, but a few updates ago I stopped being able to get passed this. I think it was partially that early on it was this cute little school girl crush, and then it immediately goes to sex instantly cures everything. And as the relationship got more mature, and became more of the focus, her immaturity became harder for me to ignore.

It's a shame because I miss the cat :D.

If you mean mental/ emotional immaturity, I think that’s part of the point. If you mean physical. I buy that she’s 20ish. I have a friend who is all of 5’1 and 90 ponds and she has 3 kids. I also think her size is part of the point - with him beside her she feels not only safe but able to go on offense, against a world she’s very angry with, for the first time.

I mean, if the author says the character is 20 or 200 or 20000 then that's the case and it's not really up for a debate. But it also doesn't cancel the existence of objective tendency for people of a particular age to look a particular way and she just doesn't look 20. Exceptions exist but they don't deny the rule. The whole thing is exacerbated by the fact that coincidentally only 2 love interests on her football team look like bait.

What put me off more was how every LI just completely lost their minds about MC the gigachad. It's been a while since I've played it but I do remember how women's internal monologues in that game had me in utter shambles.

It kind of seems to me like what you said about that cinema game on last page - saviour porn wish fulfilment for men. Which is fine, I guess, especially since the minute details in the writing are fairly good.

I don't see it that way but, as I said, I have a close friend who matches her build and is in her mid 30s. There are also only 3 Li, and they're all pretty into him (kind of a requirement if you're going to share) but there is definitely a complex story. He's done a lot of vigilante stuff which has impressed his Li - especially since they were the victims of the people who he went after - but it's not consequence free and now the walls are starting to close in on all of them. They have a few powerful friends and a lot of powerful enemies and they aren't exactly hiding.

And he's not just a natural born gigachad - his origin story is pretty intense and he's covered with scars to back up the story.

At this point the possible endings I see are
1) Bonnie and Clyde - going down in a hail of bullets
2) MC sacrifices himself to save the others
3) With the help of their powerful friends they all abandon their lives and careers and live out their days on a Greek Island (or similar) under assumed names.

Unlike the cinema VN, there's definitely a story and it's progressing rapidly now toward ... something.

I knew a woman that looked 12, once. So it isn't just physical. It is more of the mental and emotional thing. But, if I see someone that looks 16 and acts 16, then I'm probably going to feel like they're 16. But here specifically, I just don't think that the MCs maturity and Regina's maturity match up to the instant love that would heal his baggage. I can't suspend that much disbelief.

I have the same issue with Hillside. I'm not sure if the young girl is 18 or not, but how she acts, and how everyone acts towards her, I don't think I'll ever play her path. Even if she's 18 and sheltered, she's still not the girl for me.

I mean, sometimes I'll argue :p. It's like the age of concent version of "landlady".

She is somewhat sheltered. She's used to staying out of everyone's way and not getting much attention from men (except creepy ones) because she's not conventionally attractive and she looks young. However, there is also a lot more to her that she just doesn't tell you up front. She's not as much of a victim as she pretends so part of the cutesiness is for show. But, to each their own.

Yeah, it's a personal preference. I'm several updates behind, so I haven't seen her cutesiness fading away. Maybe there's hope for us.

I just played through the latest update of Imperial, and I think it might have some grounds for the inclusion at this point.

If you can get through AI-translated English and some rough early episodes the plot matures into a pretty complex court intrigue sort of reminiscent of The Witcher crossed with GoT. You can play the protagonist in a straight non-coombrained manner that actually makes him act like a real human being and there's even a couple of female Machiavellian conspirators character jufot seems to like so much.

And very consistent bi-monthly release schedule stands in stark contrast with most games, leaving me almost feeling like reading through a comic series.

This unusual game is quite story driven and a bit unpredictable as the characters are driven by either a downloaded local AI or online if you prefer that. Maybe it will suit someone here. Unfortunately I'm not good at describing so I'll leave it to one of you here to evaluate. Bothe text generation and grafic generation in this game. You need a computer with a pretty good CPU and GPU to run a good local AI tho.

has anyone try the Lost Solace demo by SakuraKage ?
Oh, how fun! I think we are generally aligned here, I certainly don't see anything outrageous :) Here's my list, with some thoughts on your recommendations as well. This is mostly in order of preference within the tiers.

Tier 1 -- My absolute favourites

- Corporate Culture
- Penny for Your Thoughts (Best female protagonist ever, bar none.)
- Hillside
- Nothing is Forever
- A Summer's End (best lesbian VN of all time)

Tier 2 -- Not perfect, but far better than most everything else

- Oathbreaker (I'm a sucker for well-written fantasy and few do it better than Rinmaru. Her sci-fi space opera is one of my favourite VNs ever.)
- Deviancy (Don't really care for the incest but the 100% natural, organic, locally sourced British Banter™ is unmatched.)
- Rebirth (I'd say there is plenty of eroticism and playful romance with Sharon. I'm also quite invested in the mysteries, particularly that of the cave and Calisto.)
- Price of Power (Don't care about the PG-13 Disney Channel romance at all, I just want the story. Give me more Legacy!)
- Reluctant Archon (This is a new discovery for me thanks to this thread. The entire premise is ridiculous, yet it manages to be both consistent and sensible. I also love its funny take on Greek and pagan mythology.)

Tier 3 -- Good, well-written, interesting games

- Three Rules of Life (The story isn't all that special but, Naomi is just... spellbinding. So there's that :) I also like how everyone, including the men are broken and flawed in their own ways.)
- Leap of Faith (Yes, MC is definitely rule-violating, but the LIs are very human. One in particular hits me close to home. I'm also a big fan of the humour of it - that bunny slippers scene was hilarious.)
- Being a DIK (I enjoy it for what it is: a porn comedy full of wacky hijinks. Yes, it has a heart underneath, and it is well-written, but it's not the point of the game.)
- Chasing Sunsets (I thought the story is surprisingly convincing, particularly because they are not actually siblings. It's starting to get a bit too porny, but I remain hopeful.)
- The DeLuca Family (MC's relationships with the LIs are way too porny, but I feel drawn to the family history, especially what happened to Luna and how that affected everyone else. The text adventures are also surprisingly fun.)
- Blackberry Honey (Decent story, and surprisingly grounded for this sort of VN.)
- Defending Lydia Collier (The story is good, but I find the gameplay extremely annoying - that laptop, ugh! - so I'll probably wait until there is a cheat mod or something)

Others:
- Halfway House: Decent enough story, I suppose, but I find all three LIs to be boring clichés. Not to mention, there is a high likelihood the game will end up abandoned. Developer's Patreon updates do not inspire confidence.
- Now and Then: This is on my list, and I will definitely give it a shot.
Jufot do you have a updated version
