theres no menu choice to avoid. so far it's only in 1 part of a movie and can click to skip past

Is there any particular reason why you didn't bother to generate for the 'pc' platform and just stuck with Winders? You just cut off a whole market of Linux folk who don't want to be sucking M$ dick for no good reason. It runs fine with the runtime copied over from another VN.

thanks for the feedback. never took much notice of linux tbh, so wasn't sure how or if the game would run without bugs.

Just tick the box and forget about it when you gen up the deliverable. Mac in Renpy will probably be just as painless, but it's been a dogs lifetime since I've had to deal with Apple (Snow Leopard days).
The only thing that can bite you in the ass is NTFS and its asinine way of respecting filename case sensitivity when writing, but ignoring it on read. So you won't catch case mismatches when playtesting on Winders.

As long as you understand that Folder/File.png and folder/file.png are the same file on Windows but are NOT the same file on Linux then generally you'll be fine. Ren'Py will do all the work for you.

One of my fantasy evil acts of retribution on M$ is putting folder/file.png, folder/File.png, Folder/file.png and Folder/File.png into a game archive I write to see what sort conniption fit Winders will have trying to unpack and run a game with them
