By using CTRL, you can skip the dialog you've heard, which makes it easier to see if something is new or not. While some scenes have to be repeated, I had repeated this maybe six times with no change. This time I got something different, just by arriving an hour after the earliest you can arrive. You get there by 20:00, and the personal party (not the one with the detective) starts at 21:00. But for me to get additional dialog, I had to wait until 22:00. Also, the next day was Saturday, and while I didn't get anything new during the group party (I had been using prem wine so it would last longer, this time I came in later and used prem whiskey, still no change) I did get a new scene after I left, so I've got something moving forward.
... spoke too soon. Still haven't been able to get the lawyer to do anything different during weekends, evenings, or parties. I have Ren at 70 and Lawyer at 84. I'll keep working on Ren and see if she can help unlock the Lawyer. Might just need me to do a party on a certain day, or even be random.
I just got dialog from the teacher that she won't get rid of her fiance until I'm making a tenth of what he does. Is that just talk? Or can she open up 'girlfriend' status if I take the crime route and start making 'serious money'?
...too late, I did the thing. I haven't moved the father's case forward, because they are asking for witnesses. I think I'm going to tell them to tell the truth. I'm not sure what the right actions are. I figure it wouldn't make sense to be a goody-two shoes by turning down the money, then asking the witnesses to lie. Well, to be honest, I really can't see why I'd like to help the father get out in any circumstance.
