Ren'Py - Stranded Dick [v0.15] [Sex and Games]

Frustrated that I can not give this more stars at the moment but frankly this game's potential is being held back by some glaring issues.

The most notable issue is the level of grind required to progress. Even with console commands, the built in cheat engine, and the different difficulty levels, the amount of time spent looking for resources, eating, and managing your various stats really builds up. Some of this is to be expected with a survival game, but the whole gameplay loop could use a bit of streamlining. Additionally, quests require you to repeat the same steps multiple times before the MC succeeds. If these are locked behind items or resources you can only get once every one or two days, it leads to a frustrating time.

Speaking of slow quest progression, the payoff for completing tasks is usually minimal and dissapointing. While I do enjoy the slow burn aspect of the character's lowering their inhibitions, I was hoping there would be more diversity in sex scenes. As it stands, there is exactly one vaginal sex scene, and it lasts for about one paragraph. Scenes are sometimes hyped up in advance, only for them to turn out to be another hand job or blowjob that we've seen dozens of times prior. Repeat the same types of scenes over and over for the same woman, and it quickly becomes apparent that progression is coming at a snails pace. I'm pretty sure that you see the male MC naked more often than the women.

Ignoring the grind, pacing, and lack of payoff, the content in this is pretty good. The visuals are great, and the H-scenes are decent apart from my wishes for diversity. I am super excited to see more characters introduced, especially the Amazon woman that was teased in one scene. The environments and settings are pretty great, and it is fun to explore around the different locations for a bit to get a feel of where different resources are. The core gameplay loop isn't bad, it's actually kind of relaxing to get into a rhythm of resource collection with new resources required as situations arise. It's just that progression is so slow that the gameplay quickly becomes tedious and you don't really have an option to go forward.

With all that said, keep an eye on the game. The story appears to be ramping up and once there is more content it will be a lot better.

Review:
I'll be honest, I've played a similar game here on the site but with different graphic arts, my experience with that game was not the best because there was a lot to grind and this game is no different. But I'm going to talk about the little big potential that this game could have, since its plot is different from several games we are seeing out there (family, incest and home) but that doesn't change much either. Stranded Dick it's a game that you grind even with cheat.

History:
I don't know if I understand correctly, in the synapse of the game the MC is a student who has just graduated from high school and took a vacation with his friends on a yatch and that one night an accident occurred and they had to take refuge on an island. The story is interesting, isn't it? you'll be stuck on an island with some girls and you will have to look for them and help them.
But when we play the game, there is no plot like the synapse of the game. You soon find the MC's mother, but what is she doing there? I do not know.
But to say that the plot and the story has changed. At no time do you see the MC talk or think about wanting to look for others, only he and his mother stay on the coast of a part of the island trying to stay alive (grind). After a period (grind) you meet your cousin Jessica, who seems to be a little dehydrated and sick and then the "second" part of the game begins.
Gameplay:
I'll be honest, I used to enjoy playing sandbox games, but nowadays it's hard to enjoy playing that style of game. The grind that some developers put in their games is something totally boring and tiring, but of course, some even have less grind or with good management, but if you read the game's synopsis you will think it would be a VN, but you end up finding a sandbox.
But talking about the gameplay, you need to keep yourself alive and your mother in a great mood. Searching for food and resources and there's a day cycle that for me is a bit poorly managed. The quests tab can end up being a bit of a problem for you, as the dev should separate active quests from completed quests. Sometimes you end up getting stuck not knowing what to do and other times you can end up getting stuck in a bug without being able to advance in the story (I had a bug in The Pond quest that I couldn't advance)
Graphics & Sexual Content:
Rachel and Jessica have great character model renderings, especially Rachel who is a mom who doesn't look like she's 20/30 years old like you see in A LOT of incest games out there. She appears to be around 40 years old and Jessica is the same age as the MC, 20 years old (This is great!). Talking about the sexual content, I don't know if it will let you down or not, as there are few that can satisfy you. At IMO I found it ok, the animations and sexual positions too, nothing big or bad to see.

Why I did gave 1 star?
Although the game has two attractive female models, unfortunately the game did not captivate me with its gameplay. Not that it's horrible to play or that its crafting system is bad, but it's because of the grind and other things. Let's remember, the plot was supposed to be MC with his friends and an accident happens and they all go to an island and there they get separated in a storm and the MC has to look for them. But the plot changes, the MC finds his mother and much later finds Jessica his cousin. The story so far isn't bad but it isn't good either. The dialogues between the characters also won't arouse much interest in the plot. The reason I give it a low rating is because of the grind and also some bugs, mainly one that prevented me from progressing in the story because it ended up being frustrating. So, anyway, the game could be promising if it was made in VN, not that I'm saying sandbox is bad, I like it, but it didn't speculate all expectations. I wish the dev luck, maybe I'll follow the game and then when it improves I'll change my opinion.

Unfortunately, this game is pretty much a pointless grind quest. It has vapid characters and the gameplay loop is extremely boring. You're better off being stranded on an actual island than playing this game.

great story progress, good renders, quest system is very good and detailed, story is kinda good and gets even better with updates, mom and cus characters are hot, not buggy ( at least i didn't ran into any)

Sounds like a great game to me! It has everything I need in a game, and the survival touch gives it a great touch to entertain more than just doing the missions.

The speed of how relationships develop seems perfect to me, it is not slow nor has it been especially long. Although I personally like it, that it is not easy and take it as a real challenge. It is what gives life to a game of this type.

My sincerest congratulations! The inventory menu is amazing and very original. It is one of the favorite games, I will wait impatiently for the next updates.

Great models, nice slow burn on the story, and an interesting premise are all positives for this game. Sadly, even with the cheat codes there is a ridiculous amount of grind. Overall I enjoyed the game, but I don't think I'll be coming back for future versions unless the grind gets greatly reduced, rollback gets added, and/or a much more robust cheat mod comes out.

This is a very good game. Αnd we are talking about a real game and not a VN. Τhe girls are very beautiful and the graphics of the island too.
I do not mind that it has a few love scenes, but they are just too short in duration for the effort you have made to reach them. The 2 major negatives are that it doesn't roolback and that you need walkthrough to continue the game, especially at the latest update when the campfire doesn't work...

This game promised a lot when it started, the model of Rachel is totally amazing and is the only thing that keeps me playing this game, but it's not fun to play at all.
There is a lot of excessive crafting that you don't want to deal with in a porn game, there are very little scenes for being a 0.7 version.
English is awful.
Sometimes you'll have to cheat to be able to progress on the game (just watch the comments here, everyone is talking about cheating console variables, which by the way are in Spanish, even me being a native Spanish speaker I'm annoyed by that).
If you still manage to endure all this and unlock the porn scenes, the scenes are totally robotic, the dialogue between characters is forced, it's like the porn scene is a chore. A total letdown.

This one is okay. It's padded to hell and unclear on what to do at points but it's competent. More super standed DAZ models and the night scenes are far too dark. My advice would be use a dim blue light to make it so you can actually see things and still look like a night scene, but I'm screaming into a void, I know. I don't like this one as much as a similar game. Ultimately this one just doesn't stand out to me.

One of the only few sand box games done really well, also the mom model is awesome. Hints are adequate to guide through the game , no need to walka around like a headlesschicken like majority of sandboxes.The slow pace may put off a few, but i think its well suited for this game.I cant wait for the game to progress more. So far (v 0.6) I've found the game to be a tad boring. Mostly this is due to the fact that the game mechanics (surviving on the island) don't have much interest and often require you to go through repetitive loops of actions, once and once again. Maybe as it is developed, new functions and options will make the survival part more compelling, but right now it's repetitive and lacks strategy or anything to make it worth. Story is nothing special, nor good nor bad, just generic.

As for the technical aspects, we have some minor voices (mostly moans and such) on the sound side. As for renders, Rachel is done with some nice quality, though not the best I've seen, and it soon loses some appeal after you start repeating scenes to make the relation advance.

So, overall, right now I'd place it on a 4/10, but it can certainly improve as the game develops.

I have really enjoyed the game tips cud be a bit better/more explained overall just bravo this is awesome I can wait for more to come, save load system could use a little change I have quite a few times saved when I wanted to load or that can be my left mouse button dying

Cheats helped but the game still is a grind

For me game went downhill once the niece showed up
Game would have been better if only mc and mom ended up on the island
The niece is just a annoying character made to make you grind even more
Also somtimes mom or niece vanish searching for food But then at dinner say they found nothing While you brought fruit material and feel like mc does not get rewarded for that

did not play with sound
completed most of the content for 0.6 but felt boring seeing the same mom or niece helping mc with his problems scenes
Was hoping you atleast would have sex with the mom and you needed to hide it for the niece
Only thing i liked are renders and the cheats for material

Thanks for this game. Really good rendering and clever idea. Slowly building story is nice and the chemistry between characters is believable. Finally a game not too hasty. I just Love it. I am looking forward for more.

It is interesting concept, but I have played mobile games with less grind. Worse is that it is so bad that cheats aren't even hidden to show how bad the grind is. It has a good concept, but the way of certain 'adult survival games' don't get good rating here, is because of a bad grind.

Example: You need to raise your survival points to three by reading a survival book, but the game forces you to only let you read it once a day. Forcing you to wait each day for a single point.

This game is so good, I wish it was finished already!

I admit I'm not thrilled with the repetitiveness, but the cheats help with that a bit.

The development so far is really good and hoping to see much, much more. My only real complaint is that it's not all done yet!

This could be really good, true it has some annoying parts but any game with an incest tag is "good" in my book, the images also look pretty decent, and the girl character looks HOT! i'm looking forward to the next update!

It is a real indie survival game instead of fastfood fap VN . The repeat task(resource collecting/crafting) becomes more rewarding when you taste the fruit.
And for those repeat task, it does not feel that repetitive as the task is triggered one by one closely. It costs me around 50 days to reach the end of v0.5 which I think that is acceptable.
The plot is fine but the progress maybe a bit slow for some people. I hope the games can receive more love to allow it to complete.

Stranded Dick [v.0.7] seems like a fun game with an interesting plot. The game wants to simulate survival aspects like in other popular games, f.e. "Stranded Deep".
But in reality players are mostly in it for the chicks not the survival, right?
Hence the survival aspects should be a flavor, not the main dish!

The survival unfortunately is very grindy, because you end up doing the same tasks over and over again during the day. Hence it's boring to do so and click on the very same screens and items repeatedly.
Looking for food and crafting items might be fun the first three times, but then it gets tedious and annoying. Therefore the gameplay is very redundant.

Seems like the incest got completely removed from the game recently due to new patreon rules.
This is unfortunate, although I can understand that move by the dev, because he most likely feared to get banned on patreon and losing his income.

Rachel never looked like the mc’s mother anyway (looks way too young as "mother" for an adult mc, so she never was a believable mother to begin with). The daz3d model used for Rachel looks way too young to represent a milf with an adult son (mc).

The tension curve / pacing in this game between the mc and Rachel is very slow. It tries to be realistic and therefore relationship building takes some time, while it's the player's job to push the limit further and further with her. This game mechanic can be fun, BUT since the incest was removed, the slow sexual progress doesn't make that much sense any more.
After all there is no big taboo as obstacle any more like being closely related, but just Rachel being in a relationship with someone who might be dead by now.

Apart from that, I'm not a fan of the Lara Croft outfit, which Rachel is wearing on the island, because it simply doesn't make sense in this unrelated stranded scenario, other than adding a rather cheap pop culture reference.

The new blonde girl, Jessica, is fun and acts surprisingly different, compared to reluctant Rachel. So characters seem to have different personalities.

I'm anticipating further updates in order to see where this game is going and I'm especially curious about the rest of the cast.
It's still quite early in development considering the limited amount of content.
Keep in mind that the update frequency is quite low, the dev clearly takes his time to make new updates (half a year and more).

Unfortunately some releases tend to be buggy. Considering the update frequency (~half a year), it's a real shame, that new releases don't seem to be play tested at all. Certain bugs can prevent in-game progress and therefore might be game-breaking bugs.

Despite the 3 stars rating for the time being, I think it's a promising game with a lot of room to improve with emphasis on the latter (like removing much of the grind, adding more sexual content, polishing everything some more and bug-free releases)

Unfortunately the dev decided to ruin his game by adding cuckold content to this harem game. The game could have really picked up speed now by meeting more female survivors.
But unfortunately the dev decided to cuck his fanbase. This new contoversial content is anavoidable and right in the player's face.
With the introduction of Steve all progress with Rachel so far is gone and the main character Rick is cockblocked. The mc is reduced to an observing role.
My interest in this game is quickly fading. It's a big negative surprise, because this game started as a harem game and didn't have any ntr tags.
All the grind during a playthrough is really not worth it to be suddenly cucked in the end.
I'm really disappointed and will reduce the rating to 1 star.

The repetitive grind is just too much. An obvious band aid for the limited content, I still give it three stars because there is something here that could be salvaged.

But to grind for the exact same scenes repeatedly is not content.
