What's up, my dudes?

So, I bring you spaghetti code once again - with a new, completely original and undoubtedly very clever and funny name. Go figure.

So, the stuff in this one:

  • A showcase of a "re-write" I plan. This is the main reason to show the progress today, a sample of a kind. I will wait for your feedback on that. It is just the intro part, but for now, it is a direction... no, rather a "vibe" of a direction I plan to take when it comes to pacing and storytelling. - Gonna wait for your feedback.
  • Added an option to define character names and standings. Go have fun. I know it seems to be minor, but for some folks it is a whole layer of immersion.
  • Fixed OF - kinda. It actually gives you money now. Weekly for now. Hah, imagine literally risking your ass... and your throat... and your ti- you get it - for ABSOLUTELY ZERO GAIN. Yeah.
  • The scope. What I think a lot of HTML fuckingaroundsimulators lack is scope and goal. The game is a game first and foremost so you have to have a win state. Otherwise, it is just mindless wandering around. The goal is vague for now, but in future updates I plan to actually make stages to reaching the goal - which leads to win state. The good ending. The positive termination. The successive cessation. Th- uh... here I go again. Oh, and fail states. Multiple ones. I guess. Maybe making you able to lose the game in a porn game isn't such a goon idea. Who knows.
Anyway - the plan is following. Frank - the dad - will kick you out if you fail his conditions or if he knows you do be slutting on the interwebz.
And you still have your stream and your following and your reputation and it would be great to have your cake and eat it too. So maybe it is good to do be slutting in the anonymity, credit to tayden25 for inspiration.
The calibre of creator you are will increase the chances someone connects the dots and if you do some public stuff you could wear a facemask for example so no one recognizes you while you showthebobasandvagene. And so on. Gotta do some outlining on the events I'm planning like collabs with other streamers and stuff. Oh and a "Streamer Awards" type of big ass event with multiple possible outcomes. Alright, I'm ranting again, here is the new HTML file,just place in the folder I didn't have any time to mess with media yet so old folder will work.

Oh btw, I plan to post a small update every day for the next couple of weeks. A "sprint" of sorts if you may. Also, gotta go make a new thread I guess.

Btw, what do you guys think about the streaming "minigame". It is pretty much pointless imo? Just adds more clicking.

Should I get rid of it?

I personally don't see the minigame as adding any purpose, like you said it just adds extra clicking without doing anything interesting or adding a challenge element.
I certainly wouldn't mind if it got axed.

I would say to keep it but change it so it does matter. If we're going to be a streamer that should be a key component of the game I think. Like the stuff with the streamer house seemed like it could've been cool.

I thought of maybe making a separate "practice" passage where you do the mini game, it would raise your gaming skill and then it would reflect on your streaming performance, because as of now, streaming is a click fest.

Hey, my dudes. No new file for today, I spent too much time setting up an ide, since making shit in native twine 2 editor is pain if your story has more than three passages.

Went VSCode + Tweego path, generally, very satisfied, because I don't need to bash my head against the twine 2 editor experience anymore. Plus Live Server is so good.

What does all this nonsense mean? It means I will not suffer as much while developing the game, it was so worth it. I literally started like a dozen projects before, and abandoned them because twine editor is awfu- well... it is not awful. But it is really, really uncomfortable. Good at visualising the connections between passages and sequences but that's basically it.

And what I did today mostly is mechanics stuff anyway - moving the minigame to a separate practice passage and stuff like that. New content is still being outlined, didn't really have much free time today to make anything more than vague a to b to c plotting. No flesh on the bones yet. And frankly, no bones too, just a stickman figure. No, even better a drawing of a stickman figure... or a pile of loosely arranged sticks. Still, gotta keep you updated. Funny thing - ever since I started to resuscitate the thread, the original dev's patreon got new subs. Should've plugged mine in already lmao.

You seem like you know what you're doing more than most devs, for what it's worth. I haven't even downloaded any of the new files from your changes and I have faith in what you're doing lol

Lmao, that's probably not true, I'd be a professional dev by now if that was the case.

Only fans is bugged. When you collect payment, everytime you press back to exit, it just increases the money and your softlocked

Yeah, it is tough.
Not just here. It seems like the genre in general doesn't attract a lot of reliable talent. Tons of abandoned games, even small multi person studios will just fall apart. It's strange. The same doesn't seem to happen with animations and art. Even on bigger projects.

Totally relate on the nap. Lol.

Damn Bruv. Thought this game was lost to time. Glad it's being picked up. Just wanna say that I think the fan interaction was some of the strongest point in this game and hope it will be expanded upon. and thx again for the revival

I mean, the entry barrier is pretty low, so a lot of people do try, and that's good.
