That's unfortunate. It's one of themes that's missing the most here. A badass female protagonist that doesn't get used in every other scene with a lot of choices.

It really means a lot to hear, because that was exactly the vision – to create a badass female protagonist who is in control and not just pushed around.
Even if the project won’t continue, knowing that some people saw the potential and appreciated the idea is a huge encouragement for me.

I'm confused. How it should spark interest when the demo just came out? Also, many people are complaining that we are getting copy paste games especially that's AI. If the project is out of passion, why not continue the development?
I understand the confusion, and I also get why it might look strange to step back so soon. But here’s the reality: the person working with me on the story has experience with visual novels and knows what kind of numbers a project needs at the very beginning if it’s going to have a future. In our case, the response was extremely low, and the feedback I got from people with experience confirmed that.
This was planned as a huge project – something I would easily invest more than 1000 hours into. But if, after all that time, maybe only 20 people are truly following it, it becomes very discouraging. It’s easy to judge from the outside, but it’s hard to explain how much effort goes into every pose, every render edit, the writing, the music, the storyboarding… it’s really not a small thing.
That’s why we made this decision early on. Not because of a lack of passion – that part was always there – but because we also have to be realistic about the future of the project.

Yes, we actually released the game on itch.io before posting it here. But itch has recently changed their policy – explicit adult games with sexual content are no longer indexed in their public search. That means you can only find the game if you already have the direct link. Because of that, in two days we had only 4 views on itch
So while itch.io (and Steam even more so) could be an option in theory, in practice it’s a huge back-and-forth with policies and restrictions, and it makes it almost impossible for a new project like this to gain visibility there.

Sorry if it sounds harsh, but if he's so knowledgeable about, didn't he thought to do some "market" research before embarking in such an ambitious project?
I mean, some projects can take time to get off the ground. I find that the decision to abandon the project is rushed after just the demo. Even knowing how chronophage the development of such project can be.
If this was your vision maybe you can think in ways that the contribution is higher in terms of the amount of money given. Less people but higher contribution. As other said, there is people interested in this kind of stories that break the mould. Otherwise we will be always locked with the same old story in terms of FMC: dumb hot woman, blackmailed and whored (mostly) because an absurd reason, to the point that she discovers she always was a whore. And even this kind of games they do not have guaranteed it success.

Huge project? And you start with a measly 100 renders. I wouldn't even bother downloading that, just sayin. At a rate like that most people will let it cook for like 5 updates so there is actual content to play, obviously you won't have much interest like this at first.
You also don't know too much about AVN development if you think 1000 hours is anything for a huge project.
It’s not about money, it’s about reality. A project like this only makes sense if there are people who actually want to see it grow – people to interact with, exchange ideas, build a community around. That’s what keeps a dev going.

Instead, when I look at the numbers and even someone on our own Discord calls the project “pathetic,” then I have to ask myself: should I ignore that reality and waste hundreds of hours while neglecting other things I’m working on? Or is it more honest to admit it’s not working and move on?
Pretending otherwise would just be lying to myself. Comments like yours don’t help anyone – they don’t show strength, just zero tolerance, zero understanding and zero respect for someone who at least created something.
Game was just posted here, a good place to build a community. How many subscribers did you had on Discord to really take such decision?
Is it just me, or did you expected everyone to praise your game for its many virtues and for the ambition you had for it? Of course there were going to be people who didn't like it, and who were going to criticize it more or less harshly.
Which reality? You say it's not money, but you're not giving time to even know which be the "reality" of your game.

One thing you will always, ALWAYS get, is toxic haters. Did that person just call it "pathetic" or did they elaborate? Because if it's only the former, that's no feedback.
One thing I mentioned in my first post on this thread is how the transition scenes felt a big buggy and sluggish. Another thing is that it needed a few more choices, because I was honestly confused if this was meant to be a kinetic novel or not at first.
Jelena herself is REALLY hot and that's one of the most important things to have in a FMC game, and you got that perfectly right. Maybe it could've helped if we had one or two sexier scenes with her too, something erotic, like dressing herself or something.
I'm no marketing specialist, I don't know any of this stuff, but I feel like you guys gave up a bit too soon. That's just my feelings on the matter.

I'm sad to see this project die, specially so early on. I was really looking forward to a FMC game that was not a slut simulator and had a strong woman as main character. I'm really sorry the project was cancelled even before I could stay to play it.

Yes it is about money...or you'd be carrying on. You say commmunity...people to see it grow? It only appeared here...yest...er....day....and you've already thrown in the fucking towel? Because what? You didn't make an instant quick buck?
You're deluded...utterly deluded. Good luck with any future endevours...but with your current attitude, you may as well just quit them all. It takes time to get noticed, time to build a base...time to make money...and again, there is no guarantee of it. AVN's are like OnlyFans....there's a reason a top 1% exists. To get in that, you need skill, right attitude, time and a general good slice of luck and becoming known, either through hard work, regular updates or good contacts.
99% will never make it enough to cover their costs if they are lucky. Your supposed industry expert should know this. You say comments like mine don't help anyone...maybe start comprehending what you are reading then.

I'm not sure this is the right attitude to have as a developer of a new project, as a consumer these days, I rarely look at demo's or version 1 or 2's anymore as I find it annoying to see them abandoned so quickly (as most never get a 2nd update). Thus my rule is not to invest my time into anything new until the dev as shown the ability to stick with it for at a few updates, then I'll pop in for a look, seeing the abandoned tag pop up on this so fast was disappointing but not surprising.

LOOOL this Dev !!! posts demo with 100 renders and expects 1000+ subs , bro it doesn't work like that and you look like wanting to just cash the money and this is not passionate work for you , Many good dev here started working on their games alone and had little to zero support at first but they built everything with time and effort people noticed them and they started supporting them , you made game v0.1 and abandon it in just a day sorry but no one will ever support you ever again in any next project
