check that you didn't accidentally name the mods.txt file "mods.txt.txt". i forgot i had my settings so that filetypes don't show up in my windows explorer, i eventually realized that my text file had an additional ".txt". removing this made it work for me. just a suggestion to check.
Made sure no extra TXT was part of the mod.txt file but the issue persists. No folder in generated when the game is launched.

I had the same thing happen. I was download the file into my downloads folder, and then extracting the file in my downloads folder, and then moving the extracted fold "king_tut_v1.5" into the "mods" folder. That didn't work.

I then extracted the download directly to the "mods" folder and this created a folder in the mods call "king_tut"

Problem solved. :)

I found out what I was doing wrong and feel like a fool for not seeing it sooner. I made the mods.txt file INSIDE the king_tut folder instead of the MODS folder. Read the install instructions several times yet still kept creating it in the wrong folder.

Yeah. I really am not too smart, or the mod just doesn't want to work for me either
This is what I did with a fresh download:
Downloaded a fresh ZIP of the game > opened the ZIP file in a separate window > drag/dropped the king_tut folder into the MODS folder > went into the king_tut folder, right-clicked, chose New - Text document > renamed New Text Document.txt to mods.txt and added king_tut to the first line of it and saved > cut/pasted the mods.txt file into the MODS folder > started the game and the king_tut folder appeared under runtime\tfel.

I do have the "Show file extension" option enabled in File Explorer.

I think it might be working, unless it's supposed to have the square around the menu items. I expected those for some silly reason, probably because I've had the "Offer Job" choice before I put in the mod. In which case, sorry for the brain-dead moment.

Finally got it to work!! Thanks !! I actually just kept on adding "txt" over and over even though I read this hint many times

I suggest that "stam" the variable for energy be added to the cheat related to resetting things like health, stress, and injury. I edited my own copy to add it and found it quite helpful.

Any chance to add a cheat option to edit NPC opinions or always succeed when trying to change an opinion?

The UI is not suitable for adding a big editor that allows changing opinions, that's why the change opinion UI is so clunky. So, I'm not going to build that, since the effort is just not worth it.

Stamina is recovered when you sleep, all actions in game use stamina, if you want to be able to do more before needing to sleep, I suggest setting the 'stamina_use_factor' in the .config file to a value smaller than 1.0, .3 or .4 seem to work nicely.

No connection to Mega, unfortunately. Page times out.

EDIT: It's working now. Site must have been down.

Even with the cheat working I can only have 2 sisters/daughters until the mom shows up much later. What step am I missing?

noun: proclivity; plural noun: proclivities
a tendency to choose or do something regularly; an inclination or predisposition toward a particular thing.
"A proclivity for hard work."

Basically, just doing the usual. Like ordering the same meal every time you go to a particular restaurant.

Cant tell if this was sarcastic or you were making an attempt to help educate a fellow gooner. I suppose either way, thanks I guess! However I know what the word means I was less clear on how it applied game mechanics. As in, does repeating actions make me love them automatically, is this universal among all characters if thats the case can it be used to alter affinities for NPC's with things like public sex.
