I think they are always a hireling now. Makes sense - why would a guild give out slaves?
It made the guild hires completely useless though. They massively lag behind in stats compared to characters you can find in even medium level dungeons, and it takes an absurd amount of guild point grind to buy all the guild upgrades. I usually just cheat mode the guild points when I try I new release now.

We sort-of know the guilds have slaves, because of the "slave request" notice board quests. No reason the "sign-on bonus" wouldn't be one, in fact that makes more sense than a simple contract with a hireling who can in some eventuality quit on their own initiative.

Unless all that was changed in the updates I haven't played because "just different enough to require restart."

Indeed, the guilds have slaves, but I don't think they would give away a quite good slave to anybody who signs in. You can't find somebody as good as that in a random goblin hole.
Getting them an apprentice or a partner, on the other hand, makes much more economic sense.

Wiki has the correct responses, but do try first

You're not wrong, but MC is a "dark horse" major landowner they're essentially making bids to; that can justify both options and MC having the choice.

I will share an opinion I hope the dev or whoever write for the game, might come across.

But I don't think the writing of Amelia's quest line is satisfying, or even live to it's potential.

I get that the entire point of her character narrative is that while she's devious and great at her job, she actually yearn to go back to being a simple slave and serve someone powerful.
But the way it end, I find it gives little satisfaction.

Long story short, if instead of taking her as a slave, you decide to put her back into her post, you get a single textboxe from her that basically say "you failed to meet my expectations.".
And while I get that the idea behind it was "what she actually desired and planned for, was to turn back into a slave."

My idea when I made this decision before seeing it's result was "well the servant guild need someone powerful, she's been great at her job and extremely helpful. Leaving her as the guild's leader as a ally is the smartest move. Plus she owe her ass to the mayor, that should already serve as a owner/servant situation".

But no, instead I got a single textboxe that basically said "u goofed" and I think it could have been handled much better.

Hell, it's not even the fact that she was unsatisfied that I find, well unsatisfying.
It's the complete lack of thoughts behind it, maybe she could have expressed her unsatisfaction but admitted it was a clever choice, or anything else.
Just, not a single textboxe with two sentences.
I feel like whoever wrote it, didn't consider WHY the player would like her to stay in power as a story-element point.

Maybe I'm missing something, or maybe more is planned for it later considering she just has a placeholder for dialogues for now.
But if she's gonna be a slave, I would like to be able to make her leader of the servant guild again.
I thibk would be the absolute best ending to her storyline, she gets to be a slave again, serve someone powerful, do all the shady things she likes to do, but this time it would be to actually serve a master as she desired so.

A actual servant/slave presiding at the servant guild for her master, i think it would thematically fit and it would be the most fun way her character development could end.

This game seem to be about getting influenced and power, from owning a land, getting influence over the four local guilds, then becoming mayor.
sitting your power by eradicating the leftovers of the previous system or even marrying it's fucking inheritor to officially sit your power.
to choose between instigating a coup or developing relationships with a neighbor state.

I don't think putting a devoted and experienced slave/servant into a place of power as a way to extend both said power and influence over would be a unexpected or unwelcomed narrative.

snip
Just remember this is still in a later alpha stage to very early beta stage of the game, things have changed and will keep changing during development.
The story has changed from the beginning and will keep changing.

No the Dev does not come here, he stays on discord only, only posting and uploading the game to patreon and itch.io.

I did say I hoped her storyline won't just stop there.
I feel like it's such a weird thing that her entire role in the story might have already been finished?

She was pretty much presented as a benevolent devious adviser type of character, someone already in a place of power that assist the main-character through the spread of their influence and machinations.
And she does just that twice with election and then the Princess, and then her role end the following chapter.

You're lead to believe she might have some great plans involving putting you into a place of power for some mysterious reason, she even make allusions to help you become mayor because she might have somes services she'd be expecting back from you,
but then her entire role, and goal as a character is laid bare at the very start of the second chapter and it look finale.

You'd think she would only do the "truth is I'm tired and I yearn for the time I was just someone's property" character-development at the very end of the game, maybe after a significant event or something like that.
But no, she played her role during both the prologue, and the first chapter, and that was it.
It's so strange, even more considering it make her helping the MC almost non-sensical considering she had no plans for the future.

her plan started was to get someone elected mayor, and just stabilize the city so she could basically resign in peace?
But then why go through all of this in the first place?

Prior to the comeback of the heir, Alleron was already peaceful, thoses guys didn't have any mayor and it dosn't seem like anyone gave much of a shit, especially considering the absolute insignificant ammount of efforts they expect you to go through to earn their vote (Myr literally jut send you on a errand).

So it looked to me like the first random schmuck with a property (and the MC is not even the single one) could have ended becoming mayor if they even tried.
She could have resigned at any point, let someone take over her, and then just go back to slavery, not like anyone she would have asked would have said no.

So it's such a sudden stop that her role as a guild leader just a single chapter in. (don't count second chapter, you can finish her quest line before).

Among the guilds, she had the more plot relevant role, and the most ammount of interactions with the MC.
Hell, I would have expected Sigmund to be the first to go, followed by Myr.

Anyway, thanks for the pointer, I will go to their discord server to address my criticism.
Don't let my autistic-need to sperg out over narrative-writing fool you and believe I dislike the game, I love it.
Loved the first, love this one.

I'm stuck on the Kuro quest ("Kuro's Minor Errand").

It says to search through the hideout for additional clue, but what hideout? I've search through many places but I haven't seen any clue.
