You aren't intended to pay off the loan. Advancing the story clears it. Or is that just a personal challenge thing?
There is a difficulty setting that keeps the loan from being cleared out just because you became the Mayor. If that's active, you need to pay it off.
However, even with that setting, trying to pay off the loan before advancing the plot is not the best idea, because available resources are story locked (unless you turned that off), so you can't get and make the primo shit that sells for big bucks unless you advance the story anyway.
As for sex work's payout, yeah, it's pretty shit. I think it could use some boosting, but as it is right now, the major benefits are "it's set and forget; no need to interact with it once you assign a worker" and "there is no limit to the number of hookers you can use." But not having a hard cap on how many people can do it is only of limited utility, since you probably don't have enough people to go around for a while yet, so renting out your spares as toys isn't that useful.
There's consumables you can use to boost their take, but that requires having someone producing it in the farm, and by the time you get the relevant farm stuff set up for bonuses on your hookers, you'd probably have been better off handing them a pick and sending them to the mines anyway.

try to find texts by the name of the quest in the language files, and see if there is a text for this quest. also in the language files, you can find a variable that is assigned the name of the quest and find all the logic of quests in the src folder.
if you don't wanting to advance the story, then the debt will double, and then again ) doesn't need to be paid at all, just do the mayor's quest and he will disappear )
prostitution is not profitable... more profitable to just catch fish and sell them, you can quickly boost your character and earn 1,500 gold per day by catching fish ) but if you want to change the formula, you can search for the prostitution function in files, the src folder and modify it as desired )
and it's also profitable to do guild quests for the supply of items and slaves, and you can often buy items in stores, and there are some items that you can stock up on, because you often get quests for them, and you can also buy slaves on the slave market and complete quests... usually, your investments triple.
I can't seem to find a way to continue the Kuro: Disappearance quest. I do the talk in the church, go to the Aliron Outer District location, do the first search, do the first fight, then Kuro grabs something and disappears, and I'm prompted to "Follow the myterious trail. Complete the Seach task at the hideout for clues about other such spots." but there is no button to further search the location. Do I have to go somewhere else?

Never mind, I had to assign a work task in the Outer District location from the mansion menu. That part of the quest could be made clearer or just be simplified.

It was mountain settlement it seem new update was change name like this, Did you play the latest version or the older version won't change the name of location?

my version is 1.13.2 ,the original version of the save not sure what the version was.
Those quests were broken in one version of the game. Make sure you're using the latest, which is 0.13.2a.
Is literacy in minor training pointless/not implemented ?
I can read exp scrolls from dungeons and books from the guilds without it.
Seems like its only use is for special training quests.
Speaking of the special training quests ( for specific houses and whatnot ), noticed them yesterday and man.
They make pure training completely viable, that's so great.
In fact, everything is viable to focus on.

Discord insists whoring is worth it for 1000gpt (im assuming item use so thats 2 pops per at 500gpt per pop). I can't seem to get to that value tho even with the three high fame unique chars. Seems like the normies should just be put on normal work.
