I helped fund Subverse and expected a porn game and I got a halfway decent shoot'em up and grid RPG with garbage porn content. I was kinda expecting it to be the inverse? They even had to add sex to the story because people myself included complained about the fact the sex was locked away in the ships quarters and not somehow part of recruitment. Very weird. Thing is in the mean time plenty of other great animators have cropped up so now the competition is fierce. Their own website is down, their fanlsy and throne are dead, what're they doing exactly?

My biggest issue with subverse was and always will be that there was a focus on vanilla M/F with all the monster stuff essentially just being bonus content. This because FoW had their rise to fame through hardcore monster sex in a sea of vanilla

I remember distinctly there being drama surround xeno content. People thought it was NTR. Um hello have you watched any Studiofow stuff? It's all about monster fucking. Also how the hell are you gonna self insert as the autralian pilot with underwear on his head just fap and move on.

To your point directly there's a lot more monster stuff last I checked but only the shitty gifs and not many of the Premium scenes which have an actual climax. You gotta really go hunting for the xenos themselves though. I remember needing a fucking guide to unlock the bastards.

doubt it tbh, they've been falling behind in quality even before Subverse compared to the competition. Unlike the rest of the people here I actually enjoyed the animations in the game (and disliked the gameplay/writing), but it's been pretty clear for years now they're a relic of the past.

My only real problem with Subverse is that it's so vanilla. FOW was known for its demented hardcore stuff and in subverse every girl is like "I fuck monsters " I mean consent is hot, but the game was so safe. Then again it's probably cuz it was on Steam.

I participated in the Kickstarter campaign and invested money because I was a fan of the content StudioFOW made. I was sure the game would take their content to a new level. But it turned out to be the biggest fucking disappointment. Instead of a porn game, we got a game with mediocre mechanics and the most boring GIFs instead of directed porn with a plot. I consider their game a spit in the soul of their fans, the ones they lived off for many years. In the end, they ditched everyone who supported them and rebranded into the most boring vanilla for a wider audience and safety. I simply don't believe anymore that they'll ever please us with animations in the old style. Without them, there's really very little hardcore porn animation left — solo authors can show decent content, but they can't produce a whole film every 2–3 months. As a result, we have entire months of silence, even if you follow many authors who make such content. All this hunger even forced me to start making animations myself.
