Been wondering if at the end of the update the body lying next Elspeth is her brother would explain a lot if it turns out to be him

From what we've been told, Els' brother died before she joined the army, and in fact the only reason she enlisted was because he wasn't around to "serve the Crown" for the Adair family. Els and both her parents accept that he's dead, plus presumably her entire family and many others as well, so I think it's rather unlikely he's somehow still among the living.

Do they know he is dead? I thought for sure she said her brother was presumably in the same place as his friend. You only see a casket so I assumed he was MIA but presumed dead. Maybe I misread it.

It's very common. I get that lots of Devs want to follow the main story path which involves all LIs whether you are romancing or not. There is not many Devs that successfully run a friend route alongside a romance route for a LI. It can be so frustrating that you are on a friend path, yet constantly have to get the same dialogue as the romance. Turn someone down, yet MC is constantly drooling over them with thoughts and spoken words. I'm not a dev, but I would have thought a friend variable that skips the lust dialogue wouldn't be that difficult. But considering, only a few do it, maybe it is hard.

When Vi asks Els about her brother (in their very first heart-to-heart by the pool), the conversation is indeed a bit cryptic:

It's not hard. I won't say it's lazy coding, it's more like codes get lost over time. I'm guilty of it also.
If you look at the Unbroken script, there's actually quite a lot of dialogue specific to Friend paths for the main LIs. It's just kind of hard to get them because you need their Friend points to be greater than Love points, which can be hard to do unless you avoid most all the more flirty, playful, physically affectionate actions.

I wasn't referring specifically to Unbroken. I was speaking more in general terms and how frustrating and annoying it can be.

It's no harder or tedious than using any other variable in these things and if writing additional dialogue to represent that it too much work than said person probably shouldn't be making VNs. Not saying that is happening here, just in general.

On a related note, anyone else feel that even though Ines is obviously inexperienced in relationships and expressing herself that way, in many other ways she's one of the most emotionally mature members of the group, despite being the youngest? Honestly not that surprising considering the trauma the others have had.

I've always been an Amrit fan, mostly cause I'm into tattooed women, but ines is quickly becoming my favorite. She was always attractive but the more of her personality they show, the more I like her.
Yeah, agreed on both points. Not sure which LI is my favorite yet, but Ines definitely grew on me a lot in update 7. Good news is it wouldn't surprise me at all if Amrit+Ines is one of the throuples paths.

Well, we know that there's going to be 2 throuples. Ines+Vi wouldn't surprise me, but 3 other plausible ones come to mind (Amrit+Ines, Amrit+Kana, and Vi+Elspeth).god I hope so. lol. dream come true XD

Amrit and Ines have been spending a lot of time together and growing closer. Oh yeah, and if in Mallorca during the pool scene you didn't look at Amrit or Ines, go back and do that. Can't take a screenshot now, but pretty much Amrit and Ines lean on MC, hold hands while groping MC, and gaze into each other's hooded eyes across his chest. If it hadn't been so early in the story and Vi hadn't been there, I would have expected a threesome to break out at any moment.

Yeah, I wouldn't put money on Vi+Elspeth for the reasons you mentioned. However, in update 7 Els has the possibility to get some of the first "interested in girls" points available to her, and both are related to Vi, one when looking at the photo of Els and Vi in Mallorca where Els says Vi totally stole the show and the other if you just had sex the first time with Vi the other day and tell Els about it. Els says she's surprised by and admires her initiative.
So there's definitely at least the hints of some competitive admiration there, and if you played The Author you might be aware that the throuple path in that one started as a competition between the two girls, so it's a path the dev has shown a willingness to explore.
