Hello.
Thought I would just give a little bit of an update on where we are at in the game.
So the CGs are most of what we have left to do. Art takes time so it will be done when it is done.
Firstly do not use
SasakiHiro to build your GUI he will take your money, leave you with nothing that you can use and waist several months of your time and tell you job well done. (Yes I am bitter.)
Because of that I am having to build a lot of the base building and GUI from scratch (again) so I'm trying to do that. But I have currently implemented a default outfit system. So whenever you select an outfit, hair, clothes, what have you, it will remember it. So if then you go on a mission and change clothes once the mission is done it can reset to default. I am currently working on expanding that so that you can have a set casual outfit, gym outfit, sleep outfit, and so on.
I have the base layout done, and am working on developing the code for the 3 part day cycle. The plan is in the morning you will set the tasks you want to do during the day. then you carry out said tasks and have random events happen that you then play out. Then at the end of that is the night portion where you can go around and talk to people.
The hope is several fold. One I hate games that say things like met person x at 10 but you can do something that either one jumps you from 9 to 11 or worse 10:30 and now you missed it. or just forget about it all together. Or worse you can only do something on Tuesday but that was 20 minutes ago gameplay wise you forgot so now it's Wednesday and you have to wait another week.
This system, in theory, will give you a list of all things you could potentially do today. You then select what you want done. (Better stats means you can select more things). Ideally there will be some sort of color indicators if a task is main quest or side quest.
It's funny in a way. The quest system is easy. Making a quest journal for the player to follow, now that is hard. Thank you
Rich for pointing out the obvious mistake I made that had me bashing my head against a wall for over a week trying to figure out what the problem was. I love you man.
Once that is done I will work on developing the stat system. That is honestly what is going to take the most time and I am more than a little scared. I fear it is going to be beyond my capabilities. The hope is that as you increase your stats you will be able to unlock new abelites and skills that will then be able to use during gameplay both with the corruption of heroes as well as other events that may happen.
I have 3 different google docs right now trying to make sure I keep all of this organized.
I will probably re-release the demo soon with all the updates so you can at least see the progress that has been made.
So until then, thank you all very much. And look forward to more soon.
